spyderpancake
Sure, I would like the cars to look more like their street counterparts, but where the sport is now, that is not possible. For instance, lets suppose one year the Dodges were aerodynamically better and therefore faster then the other makes. Most races would probably be won by Dodges. The other makes would have to wait for the next year's car and hope that it was better. But what about this year, what are they supposed to do, finish behind all the Dodges? What would their sponsors be thinking? You say that racing is no longer in the hands of the drivers-what if only 10 drivers were in the superior make? the other drivers wouldn't stand a chance. There would be a one-make dominance or monopoly. I like the common template, that's what makes NASCAR the most competitive form of motorsports in the world. You never know any weekend who will win-you usually don't know 20 laps from the end. I agree with you about the tires though, i wouldn't mind seeing them racing on skinnier tires.
