hutchies
Pretty entertaining "race". The 500 will be carnage. That track is way too rough to run 3-wide. 3 wide.............Heck they were 4 wide.

Chrud
3 wide.............Heck they were 4 wide. How wide were they when most of the wrecks happened? The track is wide enough for 3-wide and 4-wide, but with the bump-stops on the shocks and the rough surface, a smart driver would stay out of those situations. Eliminating the bump-stops would go a long way to correcting the problem. These guys have access to so much technology, I'm sure they could find a way to get the front end down without it hoping all over the place. If these guys would get rid of the stops and set the car up with some "give" left in the springs and shocks, it would be a outstanding race. I know they could set the cars up with some "give" and it wouldn't bottom-out like they fear.

FireStrut
Congrats to the 29 team. A Chevy wins and that is all that matters to me.
MUDRUNNER
It was a pretty decent race from what i saw.I was flipping back and forth between between the race ,UFC, and Blues hockey. I was glad to see Harvick win. What does evreybody think of the new format for the so called "Bud shootout"? I think it stinks myself. I guess I'm kind of a traditionalist when it comes to NASCAR. I think it stinks that a guy like Scott Speed makes the race, while drivers like Newman have to sit out.
Chrud
What does evreybody think of the new format for the so called "Bud shootout"? I like it. Budweiser doesn't sponsor the Pole Award anymore, so it makes sense that it would be changed. The format could use some improving. Since testing is outlawed, every car that is going to attempt to make the 500 should at least have a chance to be in the Shootout. Here is my suggestion for Chrud's awesome Bud Shootout format... - Every car that is going to attempt the 500 has a chance to run the Shootout (this doesn't mean they have to run this race, so single car teams to wreck their only car). - Every driver draws for a starting spot in one of three Heat races. Since it is popular with CRAPCAR, the top 35 from the previous year are inverted and start their Heat race from the back (IE whoever was highest in points in this group starts last, second highest in points is second to last and so on). The Heat races would be 10 laps. - The top 7 cars from each Heat race transfer to the Shootout. The top two cars from each Heat will re-draw for a top 6 starting spot. The cars outside the top 7 from each Heat race go on to the 15 lap consi. The top 4 cars from the consi transfer to the Shootout. - The Shootout would be 40 laps and consist of 25 cars. No breaks, no manditory pit stops, just get out there are race. Since it is only 40 laps, you'd see great racing from the start, not a snoozer for the first 3/4 of the race. Every driver who wants to can have a shot to make the Shootout. That way no drivers would have an "unfair" advantage of running the Shootout. Personally, I think all CRAPCAR races should be run like that. It would make them much more exciting. That format would make you race your tail off from the start.
