fly
It didn't fit in the poll, but do you prefer typical antlers or non-typical?
goodnottygy
Lots of trash! But if its big and massive, it doe not matter!
Ravin R10 man
this should have been multiple choice..I went with lenght...but mass is important too
Adjam5
I like non typical because it is...well not typical. Don't get me wrong. I like a perfect rack also, but if given the opportunity to shoot a typical 8 or a 6 with junk...the 6 with junk is going down.
Doc
I can't really answer this because there is an awful lot of interaction between all of these features that makes a rack seem more massive and impressive to me. Most of the racks that have really impressed me have had most or all of the choices. I have seen some racks that have many long tines but they looked kind of stupid because they were spindly and delicate looking. I've seen some that had great mass (circumferences) but were short and stumpy and really looked quite silly. An extra wide rack is sure to catch the eye too, but not if the points and mass are missing. Then it would just look like a goofey looking longhorn steer. There really is a requirement of more than one of those features being present in a big way if the rack is going to impress me. As to the question of typical vs. non-typical, I think I go for the gnarly old non-typical. They seem to have the most character and interest. fly
I know what you're saying (Doc and Onedia). I too need a combination of characteristics to impress me. I would have prefered an ordering style (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc...) but that wasn't an option. I was afraid that turning on the multiple response feature wouldn't produce anything interesting because I figured all the choices would have been selected. I know my dream buck has them all! I've never harvested a gnarly non-typical so until I do that's what I'd prefer.
wtnhunt
Don't really think I can vote on that either Frank. I really like tall wide typicals, mass is always nice too, but I certainly would not pass up a non typical since they really do not seem to be very common around here. Back then the majority went with non-typical. Thanks for the reminder.
OUTSIDER
I like the meat the best...no matter how long you boil those dang antlers, they just don't make a good stew. I am sorry i don't fit into this category either.
Texan_Til_I_Die
My number 1 trait to look for is maturity. If you have that, you'll usually get some or all of the others.
hoythunter37
Man I like alot of those. But if I had to choose between all of them i would have to say it would have to be the most different one of all. I mean ya anyone can shoot an typical 8 or 10. But you cant get the same non typical. Just my opinion.
Bowtech_archer07
I can't pick just one. I like a tall, sweeping rack, but I like a gnarly old buck too. I think a tall, wide typical buck is prettier than a gnarly non-typical, but I think they are both awesome bucks.

HUNTINGMAN
Lots of mass and trash, anything but typicals. All I have ever killed has been typicals and although I am truly greatful to have the chance to harvest such magnifecent creatures,I am tired of killing typicals and want something diferent.I am thinking about saveing some money and takeing a trip somewhere so I have a chance to get a non typical. RangerClay
I like lots of mass. Heavy horned, symetrical with a couple drop tines.
Casey
I want nothing but mass, massive brow tines, massive everything. If they have drop tines and a few kickers, I want them being about 4 inches thick.... its all about mass to me... Those massive bucks know they are kings of the woods.
