mailmanmark
Mossberg I had one with the vent rib barrel for turkeys. I don't know about shooting slugs, but with a 3" turkey load the recoil is pretty stout. I generally am not recoil sensitive, but after 5 or 6 shots my patterning session was done. Got rid of it the day after turkey season closed. I hope yours works better for you. Good luck.

Rem308
i orderd a mossberg 535 slugster and i want to know some input on this shotgun:) Can't speak for the 535 Slugster, but I did have an 835 Turkey and it was a dandy. I was younger and dumber and I traded it off, wish I could get it back. It shot great. When it arrives, test it out and let us know. I'm sure you'll like it. Here's a pretty good review by a reputable source: http://www.gunsandammomag.com/cs/Satellite/IMO_GA/Story_C/Mossberg+535+ATS+Slugster
