wtnhunt
Don't know how much Tim, think it really depends. Think some of the suggestions above are probably right in line though.
Rayzorp
I might very well be interested. I have always wanted to do a "out of state" hunt and meet new people, just never worked out. I'll watch for details:) Ditto Ray
toddyboman
If anyone is interested in doin a deer hunt in IL I can do the leg work and get some outfitters info to a guy like Tim to call and see what they can't do. We all want to hunt IL but the price of an out of state IL deer tag is pretty high.........And the length and dates for their firearm season is odd... Firearm & Archery Deer Permit Info: The cost of a Non-Resident Either-Sex Firearm deer permit: $300 The cost of a Non-Resident Antlerless-Only Firearm deer permit: $15 The cost of a Non-Resident Combination Firearm deer permit (either-sex and antlerless-only): $315 The cost of a Non-Resident Combination Archery deer permit (either-sex and antlerless-only): $

Dakota
Well, you can use either with a firearm tag, but you can buy specifically bow or muzzleloader tags for the same price. Dakota

hoythunter37
I just thought of it and i will be doing an internship at an outfitter here in Missouri. I can check with him and see if he can make any deals for a big group of us. He offers Deer, turkey, pheasants, and quail hunts. I am pretty sure he has some reasonable price deer and turkey hunts. That just up to you all though if ya want to come here.

fly
Tim, I sure would love to hunt with you or the forum members. Deer, bear, boar, pronghorn, elk, moose would all be of interest to me (not turkey). However, I can say as far as paying an outfitter I'm not interested these days. It basically comes down to money. All I can afford are DIY hunts.

MUDRUNNER
I would love to do a wild hog or antelope hunt.Public land would probably be the only way i could afford to do it this year though.
HOYTnMUZZYboy
I know I have talked with a few guys about doing a hunt on a state owned property that is dynomite for whitetails here in Illinois. Hotel within ten min of it aswell. Its right on the Mississippi river bottoms. What you take in you half to take out and you cant use screw in tree steps. Only thing that would be needed to be paid for would be lic, and tags and hotel obivously. I'm orginally from right where this is and I know Crazylegs lives and hunts in this area. With the economy the way it is and things being tight, it could be an alternative, not trying to change what you had in mind Tim but just an idea. It's a big area, I have maps of it if anyone is interested. I will find there website and post the link here tonight. The county is Hancock county, which for those who dont know is in the area of Pike and quite a few other top countys for the IL harvest. I go down and hunt there a few times every year. I know I have read on here guys and gals saying they want to try and harvest an IL buck, and for the prime area and FREE other then lic and tags you cant beat it. I'm not against the outfitter idea im all for it, but like I said just thought this might be an alternative or some food for thought for anyone at anytime. Tim Andrus
First ! Thanks for all the replies. This would be for 2010 so everyone would have time to save, work family issues etc To keep it on even keel we should do a poll on what specie (to make it fair) and then go from there . I will talk to Steve B on some other issues since hes had experience with this keep the ideas coming one more thing....... I dont want to cause any in house bickering! Were a family here and all need to keep it fun. Some can afford more than others and I dont want them left out thanks

I will talk to Steve B on some other issues since hes had experience with this 2010 I might be able to swing. 2009 is out of the question with building the new house. My choice would be some sort of ugulate, preferably big whitetail, since we have such dinky deer here in Ohio.
92xj
I got one, on the cheaper side, I think it would be cool to do a camping/hunting get together. I know in SC Dove season comes in memorial day weekend which would give everyone a three day weekend. But meet somewhere and camp for the weekend, maybe around a lake to fish in and stuff and then arrange a dove shoot in a decent size field. This would allow everybody who attends to be in the field together and hunt together as a group. Just another idea out there. Doves are a lot of fun to hunt and the hunt is def. a fun family/friendly hunt were everybody can interact with each other while on the hunt. just a thought.... HOYTnMUZZYboy
Like I said b4 I think its a great idea. Only thing I may suggest and maybe im wrong (wouldnt be the first time) but I think something outta to be set up fairly soon to give everyone a chance to go that wants to. Just my two cents for what there worth.
Adjam5
I would love to be a part of any forum hunt anywhere and I think in the $2000-2500 range would not be outrageous, although I would think quality whitetail hunts cost much more. Non residents almost always get fleeced for tags of native species, so that could be a major percentage of cost to consider. But...it is almost 5 months now that I am out of work. I took my peace of mind trip to Texas a few weeks ago, so it would be a hard sell with my wife to be off and about, spending that kind of dough. I guess I will have to read about it after it happens:(.
Norm Sauceman
I would sure like to go somewhere. No Turkey (can't see paying that much for a bird). Exotics or any deer species. Money is super-tight for us.
Tim Andrus
Im going to talk with a few landowners soon. Going that way we would have only a tresspass fee ( $100 a day or so) Outfitters too are feeling the pinch of the ecomomy so we have alot of time . ill keep ya posted
