redkneck
I was looking for ideas for old racks. You know the ones you just saw off and lay around. I've made rattlin horns with some, knife handles, and a few other things. But some of them are kinda special. Some of the ones you hunt the hardest arent exactly living room material. I've been just tieing them up on a string last several years, but i know they'll eventually just get sun bleached and i figure some of you guys have some creative things you have done you could share. fly
I've often thought about giving some to the local schools for kids to learn from. I'm always surprised at the number of poeple I meet that had no idea that deer lost their antlers.
hoythunter37
I agree, what did you stick them together with? Screws? Hey thanks guys for the compliments. I will let my dad know you all said that. He will be on cloud 9!!! I am pretty sure he used some form of adhesive of some sort. Then he also carefully drilled some dalrods(sp) to try and anchor them down better. He said if anyone wanted any he could make some as long you send him some antlers. If you do just PM me and we can talk a little more about it.

Tominator
I've often thought about giving some to the local schools for kids to learn from. I'm always surprised at the number of poeple I meet that had no idea that deer lost their antlers. Used to have a science teacher that would take any skeleton I ever found in the woods. Right now, all my sheds and other racks are just laying around. The lamps have inspired me. Think I'll make a couple to go in my new home. redkneck
No doubt the lamps are GREAT. But... I was wonding if there was a way to keep some of them intact. I mean i got a few with nice character, 15 inches or more inside, and when you saw them off and use them individually they look a lot smaller. I think I'll have a whack at a lamp myself, and was also thinking about making a backboard for my skull mount i just did out of horns. Who knows, but if you guys come up with something neat, lets all post some pics on this thread, or maybe a new one in this section.
