MadHuntinPastor
Re: Tree Stand I don't know if it is legal or not, but I think it is easier for them to pick you out. At a young age turkeys have been looking for predators in the trees....Hawks! Personally I wouldn't want to in the Spring.

maddhunter
Re: Tree Stand There is a guy at work that hunts in Texas every year and fills all his tags out of an oak tree located near a strutting zone, every year. Me personally haven't tried it, but would think it could be effective if you were on a lot of turkeys.
Guest ronin
Re: Tree Stand I was thinking along the same lines. I had a couple of surgeries last year and I'm still not very mobile. Trying to plan in advance. Thanks.

colescott1
Re: Tree Stand I know if I ever decide to squirrel hunt, if I find it's legal, I'll just go get in the treestand I use to hunt deer from. There's got to be a hundred of those pesky, noisy things around. Instead of walking the ground shooting up, I'd sit in the stand and shoot them off the ground! Strut10
Re: Tree Stand [ QUOTE ] I like being mobile. . . . [/ QUOTE ] Big point. If you're stuck up a tree and you gotta make one of those subtle or not-so-subtle rearrangements to your position, you're kinda screwed. It ain't too often that I kill a bird from the very first buttprint I make. I usually scoot a bit here or there to get best positioning. Besides...........turkeys have no qualms about looking up into the trees, whatsoever. And they do it constantly. You're going to have a hard time not "skylining" yourself up there.
