Not picking on you Rut, but vickers was the bone head on someone having that strong of a run and trying to block them.

Okay I lied one more comment.

Finally someone that understands racing,also NYBowhunter,you are right kyle would have made it a very interesting race. While I am not a fan of his,I don't dislike him either. He is a lot of fun to watch.

Congrats to Matt Kenseth! :cool: Wisconsin's favorite son is in Victory Lane at Daytona! :cool:

Earnhardt Jr is 100% at fault for that wreck. Junior's contact on Vickers is what triggered the wreck. Vickers tried to block him, and there is nothing that prohibits blocking in NASCAR. It looked to me like Junior just tried to get back behind Vickers, but didn't have him cleared. With the plates, he couldn't really just back off and let Vickers go. The wreck shouldn't have happened, Vickers knew Junior had a great run. It was really just a result of restrictor plate racing.

It is ironic that Vickers got wrecked that way. This is how he won his first and only Cup race. :rolleyes:

awww, com'on, Kyles the man!:D He drove the wheels off that car today, he woulda made the race interesting to say the least:cool:

I always enjoy seeing Kyle eat the wall, infield, or anything else besides the track. He was strong, but I was not saddened at all to see him get wrecked. :D

The kitty claws comment was great.....luckily my wife wanted the computer.....:rolleyes:

Agreed! :mad: I missed the race, but just wacthed the wreck on the internet....I am an Earnhardt fan, and so is my son, but there is no way, that was not intentional. He needs to be punished for that. Maybe he could have "hit the brakes", but he could have eased up "just enough", to give the few inches that were necessary to prevent ruining this race.

Have yall seen the replay from the back of the cars? I just saw this....and jr hit the brakes....BUT vickers hit him as he came down. Jr's car simply reacted to the push from vickers on his front quarter panel. I'm not saying JR didn't turn him, but maybe he really didn't? Regardless he drove like a rookie tonight....he had the car to win the race....

I guess I got involved later than most in nascar, cause I don't have any problems with Gordon winning a race. I also enjoy watching the #48 run....but I wouldn't mind seeing someone else dominate! Truthfully though, I've seen a different side of KB so far this season. Instead of wrecking people, I've actually seen him race conservative aggressive, and also watched him push two hendrix cars to the front.....so maybe he'll change my mind this season by growing up a lil.

first race i remember watching was in 1996... and ever since then it has been Gordon dominating (well at least up till the last few years) he would win 12, 13 races a year and would just totally dominate every race, and whenever he got wrecked, he would complain and whine... ever since then i always pulled for him to lose, however, now that he isn't dominating as much, it's kinda pointless for me to root for him to loose, so i don't get as mad when he wins now, but its still nice to seem him blow a motor or wreck every once in a while :)

So, if he (Jr.) would have hit the breaks and caused a wreck I guess he'd been a fault again. So, what should he have done coming up on a turn? Hmmmmmmmmm

I'm guessing this is directed at me.

It is easy to say what we think Junior should have done, but none of us were out there. The best/safest thing for him to do in that situation would have been to lift slightly and let Vickers go. He was so low on the track that no one was behind him, so "hitting the breaks" would not have cause a wreck. Vickers' legal block did not cause the wreck. It is obvious that the wreck didn't start (ie Vickers lose control) until Junior made contact with Vickers when he started coming back up the track. And, considering they were just about half way down the 3000' back stretch, the 88 had all kinds of time to make a move before the corner.

I love internet racers. :eek::rolleyes::D
