GWSmith
Re: NY Round Up? Where? "SHE IS CONVINCED THERE WILL BE WOMEN OF ILL REPUTE THERE!" If they do show up by some freak plane accident or something...they will be the loneliest people on the face of the planet........... GOOD GOD MAN...HUNTING IS INVOLVED HERE!!!!! Personally....I Dont have the time or the inclination! We will have the best food in the northeast thats for sure!!! I dont think that anyone will go away hungry with the amount and variety we will have availible. Epic, Tell your wife she has nothing to worry about....Except in being included in on one of the following: Deer Drive Food Preparation(Guys do the dishes<-------- we will have photos to prove it and these photos can be framed for future use as evidence by wives against their husbands....LOL) Photographer (in the event one of us actually sees a deer or bear and actually gets a shot) Nurse....only if Epic gets a boo-boo
GWSmith
Re: NY Round Up? Where? [ QUOTE ] I can smell Gw's turkey now... GW where did you shoot that big TOM???? Was that one of NY's great birds of spring? [/ QUOTE ] Dave, You are completely aware of the FACT that that bird was taken while being guided by one of New Yorks finest hunting guides(who needs to seriously consider getting licensed as such)... SUMMERFLOWER Buddy you gave me that bird on a silver platter that day, took me to the spot, knew where and when they would be there, and called them right past me for the shot. I dont know about other people but I will be grateful for the rest of my life for what you did that day...wonderful trophy....which by the way will be at the NY Forum round-up after being cooked and made into a turkey salad for sandwiches. I can not think of a better way to honor such a fine trophy turkey than to share it with all the hunters who show up at the get together. GW where did you shoot that big TOM???? This is a test isnt it.....LOL I'm sorry people.......Top Secret I could tell people where....but then I would have to kill them
GWSmith
Re: NY Round Up? Where? You can hunt at verona beach???? Hunting - DEC Permit Only That would be on the east side of hwy 13. This has been one of those highly kept secret things around here. From what I have been able to get info on.......still is. I have had people(locals) tell me about hunting there...most say: 30-45 deer sighted each day. I personally can attest to the fact that driving in the area should be done at a reduced speed to prevent accidents from car/deer collisions. Also it is a really nice place to see bucks feeding, during the hunting season, right by the road. So if anyone is wondering where they have gone to when the season starts....it seems they have all "Went to the Beach" for some R&R

As far as I know the get-together will be on the weekend of the 1st of October.
NYBUCK
Re: NY Round Up? Where? Ok guys sorry, I haven't been on here much the last couple of days. We have the big wigs coming in from corporate and I am trying to get everything ready. Epic - Tell your wife that I am insulted. I would never do such a thing and even if I wanted to my wife is only 30 minutes away so that probably wouldnt be a good idea. Tell her she doesn't have to worry about the Startford women, they look more like men. Whoops did I say that out loud. Summer has the directions down pretty good. But instead of taking 29A it would probably better to take 29. There is a bridge out and I am not sure if they will have it fixed by then. Take 29 to Lassellville, turn left on the north road (rt 119) travel about 10 miles and turn left on the Kelly road. The kelly road turns into the Youker Road and the camp is on the left. I will give more details when it gets closer and we figure out who is exactly coming. Vermont boys - Way back early in this post I invited you guys. We would love to have you. Now I want you to understand that I am not going to promise deer. They are definately there but I am just getting to know the lay of the land. I will however promise a good time. We can shoot the bows, hunt a little or a lot, eats lots of good food and share many stories. It will be a blast. The dates are Octber 1 - 3. The more the better. NYBUCK
Re: NY Round Up? Where? Summer great directions. You are absolutely correct on the location. For Epic and others coming from the East it may be better to get off the thruway in Fonda (Exit 28) then follow 30A to 29 then go from there, I will be more specific as times gets close. This is great. I am really excited and can't wait. So vermontbowhunter are you in? We would love to have you. I will be leaving at noon today, leaving for Brockport, staying at my brothers tonight and dropping my youngest for her first year of college on Friday. Not sure if we will be going back to my brothers or not but at some point we are stopping at Bass Pro in Auburn. I guess I will have to pick up a new archery target for the "tournament at camp". Good excuse to get one. I most likely wont be on for a few days. One other thing, gather up some pics of your past hunts and deer so we can share with each other. Just a thought. GWSmith
Re: NY Round Up? Where? Hey Guys...I pretty sure I got Timbo for the get together weekend. He is coming up on the thursday before and staying at my place, hunting thursday and friday morning and then we are headed up to the get-together at the cabin. If all goes well we will be bringing some fresh flathead venison for the grill. Swamphunter(Ken) had better get the time off too. Lets see that he gets the info...I just got back from the Binghampton Gander Mountain store and meeting Tim Andrews....I'm going to sleep soon. I do have to say that seeing Tim Andrews at one of these store grand openings may be good luck....on the way home within 10 minutes after saying our goodbyes we started counting deer and good size ones too.
