Ravin R10 man
I know there was a post a few years ago concerning keeping your mounts looking good..does anyone have any info on what can be done for upkeep on whitetail mounts? What works and what NOT to use? Thanks
Guest Primetime/IL
Martin, I would say taking a paper towel and dampening it with water and wipe down in the direction of the hair would be best. Same thing goes for the antlers...some guys say to use WD-40 w/ rag to restore luster and give that rich look back into the antlers. I would avoid using anything like this or chemical based as I would be apposed to it tarnishing the mount over a period of time. For eyes use Windex on a Qtip to clean Edited February 16, 2009 by Primetime/IL
redkneck
My taxidermist offers free cleaning for life. Maybe you should ask yours about that. He tells me few ppl bring their heads back, but that it was part of what we paid for up front so we might as well take advantage of it.
