chaseasl
I want to say he is a younger deer, maybe 2.5 or at the most 3.5, any guesses
92xj
i would say 3.5, awesome looking deer!!! he will be huge next year!!!
wtnhunt
A broadside view would be a bit better for judging, but think for the deer we see around here the body on that buck looks to me like a 3.5 year old. Usually 2.5 year olds around here are a bit more tapered or slim looking in the hind end.
hoythunter37
I would have to agree that he is around the 3.5 range give or take a few days and hours and such. Ha Ha Ha
fly
Not sure about TN, but here in IL I'd say the body looks like a 2.5 year old. The antlers would make me think 3.5 year old, but we all know how deceiving antler growth can be regarding age. I'd go with 2.5.

wtnhunt
Antlers can be deceiving, that is why it is best to look at body size and shape. Tennessee deer are not usually as big as the northern subspecies(borealis and dakota). This link may be a little help with judging TN deer. Bowtech_archer07
Face and body say 2.5, while antlers say 3.5. I'd say he's a STUD 2.5 yr old buck and he will bloom into a giant next year.

layin on the smackdown
Face and body say 2.5, while antlers say 3.5. I'd say he's a STUD 2.5 yr old buck and he will bloom into a giant next year. i think i would have to agree, but it is tough to judge a tennessee deer by body size being from IL... in IL his body is screaming 2.5... his tarsals seem a bit larger than most 2.5 year olds though, and his anlter development also seems a bit large for a 2.5...his nose isnt very long, and still seems to portray a young deer...Since he is a TN deer, i will say 3.5...either way, he will be a dandy next year for sure;)
redkneck
I guess i agree with everyone, lol. If your deer is in the delta area with lots of farmland to graze, i'm saying 2.5 yr old, otherwise if it's like land around here, then 3.5.
