Anyone know what the non-res. and tag fees are right off the top of their heads??

Last year I paid $413.08 for mine. That includes a buck tag and a doe tag. You don't have the opion to just buy the buck tag, I had to buy both. If you want more doe tags you can buy them over the counter for about $15/tag too. ;)

Here's a link to the IL DNR's page for non-resident deer hunter information.

Heard back and it's a go!!:D I am so excited! It's close enough to drive, too. Which may not be a good thing, because that will allow me to pack too much stuff in my little truck:o. Well, at least I'll have a place to keep it out of the way.

Driving would be a good thing I would suspect, means you can bring back more meat without having to pay hefty shipping.;)

Good luck Deb.

Actually driving to hunt out of state is the only way to go IMHO. I do it every year, even if it takes 2 days of driving to get there. During that 10/6-10/16 week long period of time you're liable to see any type of weather conditions move through so be prepared for anything clothing wise and you might want to pack a treestand umbrella just in case. ;) If you have a backup bow consider taking it too. I've had to go to my backup bow twice on out of state hunts. Don't forget your hunter safety system and RT bowhanger. ;)

Good luck and have a good time. Hope to see some pics of you with your hands wrapped around a big one's antlers.

Having clothes for all types of weather will be a must, Rhino. Eagle Lakes seems to be due west ( 400 miles) of where I live in Ohio and we never know what the weather will be like in 5 minutes! Seems to be the only thing I can say for Ohio weather is that it will be windy at the very least. I imagine that IL will be similar to Ohio, weather wise.

Good idea on the umbrella, might have forgotten that one, it's now on THE LIST!:D Might have to get a new one, I think mine might be a little worse for wear.
