Jorden
When I was looking at them at Gander Mountain they were about $800-900 I believe. How much looking have you done? I would search around a little more to see if you can find one that is cheaper. With all their newer guns out I would think you would be able to find one cheaper. Widowmaker
I have done alot of research and that sounds kinda high. I just bought the frame for the pro hunter two weeks ago. It is in realtree hardwoods with the stainless receiver for $384.00, and then because I had alot of cabelas bucks saved up on my visa I bought the Endeavor Muzzleloader barrel for $275.00, so I bought it all for $659.00. You can buy it alot cheaper if you buy the frame assembly separate and then buy your barrel. Got any questions, pm me. Hopes this helps. BR44
Check gunsamerica.com, huntingnet.com, you can usaully find a good deal there. I bought a T/C Encore 50 cal, 209 magnum, thumbhole stock in Realtree & stainless for under $500= NIB.
muzzy1
You can buy the regular tc encore, for around$450 and change the ejector and ad a hammer extention .The new parts cost you $30 and now you pretty much have the pro hunter same gun$300 cheaper

Those two changes does not make in the "same gun".
BR44
Pro-Hunter barrels are fluted and stocks have special finger grooves also. Don't know if there is any further differnce between Pro-hunter and regular Encores.
muzzy1
And those differences are??? A fluted barrel ,is to help cool the barrel faster yes/no .I may be wrong. how fast are going to shoot shot after shot out of the m/l,that you need a fluted barrel.not $ 300 in diff in my opinion
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
And those differences are??? Fluted barrel, Stock, forend, swing hammer, EZ tip extractor, speed breech. The stock and forend will run you -$150-$200 depending on if you want black or camo. The pro hunters have a swing hammer, not a hammer extention, but you can send it to them and they will do a conversion for $70 . only way to get the speed breech is to buy a new barrel. Your looking at $500 in add-ons to turn a regular encore into a pro hunter, after all of that you might as well just buy a pro hunter. Your looking at $500 in add-ons to turn a regular encore into a pro hunter, after all of that you might as well just buy a pro hunter. Bingo. - Flex Tech Stock - Power Rod - Swing Hammer - Speed Breech - EZ Tip Extractor - 28" Fluted Barrel (vs. 26" non-fluted barrel) Yep, just a couple differences. The 28" fluted barrel performs better than the 26" non-fluted barrel. The individual costs of the upgrades on the Pro Hunter are worth much more than the cost difference between the Pro Hunter and original Encore. The original Encore is a great gun. You can get a wood stock/blued Encore for about $400. Apples to apples, a camo/stainless Encore is only about $60 cheaper than a camo/stainless Pro Hunter in our area. The EZ-Tip Extractor and Power Rod pretty much make up that difference. Throw in a stock that reduces recoil (they don't lie on the TV commercials, the Flex Tech stock is that nice), a breech plug that is a quarter-turn and out and a better barrel (can't argue a 26" vs. a 28" barrel). If you are looking for a synthetic stock Encore, the Pro Hunter is the better choice.
