Steven
So you heard about the Chimp attack in Connecticut, right? Chimp basically ate a woman's face, Cops came out shot the Chimp, yadda yadda yadda. Well, this little gem appeared in the New York Post today. What does it seem they're trying to imply, hmmm? Get ready for the Rev. Al show.
nativetexan
I was just reading that and talking to my wife about it. The NYP is defending it as "non-racial" and calling Sharpton a media opportunist. I have a feeling though this will get moved. My first thought was racial though, and i'm going to say that I don't really buy into their explanation. If you ask me its starting trouble that doesn't need to be started. This is the exact same thing they are accusing Sharpton of doing. Being media opportunists....Pointless and childish if you ask me.
redkneck
Yeah the good rev is already out in force. I figure jessie will be there too if he thinks he can get a dollar out of it. You gotta admit they got some cahoneys over at the post.

Adjam5
The NY Post is the only paper left in NYC that even has a LITTLE hint of conservatism. Can the cartoon possibly be called distasteful...Yeah. But the newspapers operate under the same 1st amendment rights that Sharpton and Jackson hide under. There is NO law against hurting someones feelings...YET!
redkneck
As Dee on What's Happening used to say "Ooooooo, Roger's in trouble...." How in the heck did you remember that one!?! You must be watching TVLand
stevebeilgard
maybe i'm reading it all wrong, but it looks pretty racial to me.

wtnhunt
Heard a little on the story yesterday, both parts of the story. But did not catch all the details on the comic. The chimp was off his meds, yep that is right the chimp had been on I believe they said anti depressants or anti anxiety meds and he was off of them and that was the reason for the attack. On Al Sharpton, he is an opportunist no doubt, and he should let the president's people deal with this if they wish to do so rather than dirtying it more than it already is and adding to racial tensions. Maybe it was not intended that way, but yes due to the caption it does appear imo to be racist and in very poor taste.
mike
I geuss the way I am taking it the cartoonist is calling all the senators and congressman monkeys, not the president. He just signed the bill he didn't write it. JMHO:D

c_lou
I was wondering why the great Rev. was all up in arms this morning on the news. The news just had a little scrolling blurp about the caption. Now that I see it, I personnaly think it's bad taste, but that's why we have the 1st amendment. I am sure there will be a great uproar against the NYP, but I guess that's the Revs. peragotive.
BowJoe
Ok... how can it be racist when Nancy Pelosi is the one that wrote the stimulus along with her gang (other members of the house) of Libs? People really need to do a little research before calling something racist. I guess that's part if not all of the problem with Americans today. They take everything at face value. Seems apparent to some that the intent of the person who wrote the caption was aiming it at Obama regardless of who actually wrote the spending bill. I do agree though that it could also be taken as that the members we have in congress currently could be viewed as monkeys.

Ted Kennedy wrote No Child Left Behind but George W. took the blame for its short falls.

Dakota
I think obama looks like a monkey, so its a good reference. thats just my opinion though. Well, that's what the libs thought Bush looked like as well. Personally, BHO is so unpopular now over this stimulus package as well as the dems that I think in two years America will elect an all conservative congress and then Sarah Palin in '12! Dakota
