Dakota
Anyone have any experience with them for whitetails? With my upgrade to Mathews, I'm thinking of upgrading my Magnus Stingers to Rage 2s and Beman or Gold Tip carbons. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! hoythunter37
Dude the rage 2 blades are awesome!!! You wont want to shoot anything else. This was the first season for me using them every deer I shot fell in sight. The entry wound was at least 4 inches. Great durable broadheads in my opinion. Dakota
Awesome! Well, I think that's what I'm going to be going with then. Anyone else have anything to say about them as well? Dakota
VermontHunter
I have yet to harvest an animal with this BH yet but I have seen the deadly effects of this BH ... Definitely give them a try Dakota, from the results I've seen personally from anyone using this head, it more than doe's it's job ..
redkneck
My muzzys have served me well, but i'm thinking of adding a rage 2 blade to my quiver next fall too. If you want to see something, get on youtube and search for "rage bowshots" or something like that. you'll see some carnage. PS- Dakota, how can switching to a mathews be an upgrade? :D:D:D Sorry, couldnt resist!!
hyperflow
I shot my biggest deer this year with a rage 3 blade and he didn;t go 40 yards, and my wife shot a nice lil buck this year with a Rage 3 blade and he didn;t go 20 yards. Both shot with goldtips arrows, i love the combo:D

Tominator
You really want to see the pic again? I've shot 4 deer with the Rage 2 blade. 3 of them stone dead within 100 yards. Lost one due to a washed out blood trail. Penetration with a fixed blade is better I think, but you can't argue the 2"+ cutting diameter on those things. They are an impressive head and they fly true like your field points. I highly recommend them. Some interesting reading. There's plenty more if you search on Rage. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60860&highlight=rage&page=
Dakota
Thanks, Chris! I might actually have to go with the Rage 3 because of blade length laws here in SD on mechanical broadheads. Dakota
stiennen
Becareful if you are using Aero Vane II's I was using rage and found that my vanes created so much spin that it was activating the slip cam and opening early. I love the Rage's though huge blood and huge wounds.
Dakota
I don't believe I am familiar with Aero Vane II's. What I'll pro'ly end up shooting are either Beman or Gold Tip carbon 400s. Dakota
Hardwood_HD
i shot one with the rage 2 blade last month, it worked great gotta pass thru at 40yds.. i think i will buy another pack this summer

Dakota I don't think the 3 blade version are as good Dakota. Might want to check into that a little more. I know there was a recall on them, and other reviews from other hunters might change your mind on the 3 blade. Based on the reviews I've seen, I'd never buy the 3 blade, but I love the 2 blade. I would have to agree. My brother first bought the 3 blade and he said they kept opening up on him in flight and wouldnt fly right. But the 2 blade flew great. I dont think I would buy the 3 blade. Jusy my opinion.
redkneck
Everyone i know likes the two blade better. I like the big cutting blades, but i'm not knocking my muzzys. First doe i shot this year was quartering away, i broke two back ribs, and the broadhead was lodged in her spine in her throat (her head was down feeding). Needless to say, she didnt go a step, better than that buck in that youtube video, which btw was the largest buck ever taken by bow in alabama at the time. :D btw.....i'm a fred bear man, atm. redkneck
Oh yeah, my buddy said his rage 2 blades kept coming apart after pass-throughs. He currently swears by these rocky mountain versions. I used to shoot rocky mtn 20 years ago, they make great stuff. Might also get you within your states blade laws, plus they're cheaper. http://www.rockymtbroadheads.com/indexb.html
Tominator
http://www.rockymtbroadheads.com/indexb.html Click on that link, then click on the 2 blade and it shows you a pic and description of the 3 blade. Click on the 3 blade and it shows a pic and description of the 2 blade. And some web jockey got paid to do that. Anyway, looks like the Rage minus the rubber band. The Rage has an O-ring to the rear. Someone copied someone's design I'd say, eh?
hyperflow
I shot the 3 blades out of a 225lbs crossbow, dosn;t get any worst then that for making the blades open during flyt and i didn;t have any problems with them what so ever. The 3 blades make a better blood trail then the 2 blades also.
Dakota
You just had to mention that you shoot a crossbow didn't you? Dakota

Ohiobucks
Someone copied someone's design I'd say, eh? Mach1
The buck my brother shot this year was shot with the 3-blade model. Tremendous blood trail and hole. Edited February 22, 2009 by Mach1
TuffnufOutdoors
I used rage 2 blades for first time this year. Man do they make holes. Two deer shot at both dead within 20yards. I wont change back. Used to shoot thunderheads.
