Dakota
I really want to get the Rage 2, but they're illegal to hunt with here in SD. So I'll either end up sticking with my Magnus Stingers or maybe go to the Rage 3. Dakota

RangerClay
I did not shoot a deer with a Rage last fall but I will tell you about my experience with them. After reading all of the great reviews here on RT I bought two packs of the 2-blades last summer. Everyone was correct, when using the practice heads they flew just like field tips. I was excited to say the least. I crawled into my ground blind for several days and I waited for the deer to arrive. I was sitting in the blind with the bow & arrow in my lap. The problem I had was that everytime I bumped the arrow the blades would come loose. The blades did not lock into place enought to make me happy. I tried another arrow. It was a little better but I was worried that upon the release of the arrow that the shock would prematurely loosen the blades. I cannot take that chance and I'm going back to fixed blades. I'm going to try the Rage 2-blades for turkey this spring and see how well I like them but for now I'm going back to my Slick Tricks. jdavis
I have not used the two blades but I've shot 5 deer with the three blades over the last two years and they are awesome; the entry and exit holes are amazing. None of the deer went more than 50 yards and one was shot right thru the shoulder and clean out the other side. I was a little worried about the two blades not being as durable if you hit bone; but like I said I haven't tried them. Give them a try; you won't regret it. I had the same problem but who knows how long those O rings have been on there. Once I changed it would they wouldnt fall out as easy. Click on the 3 blade and it shows a pic and description of the 2 blade. And some web jockey got paid to do that. Anyway, looks like the Rage minus the rubber band. The Rage has an O-ring to the rear. Someone copied someone's design I'd say, eh? Ya, I thought the same thing. They do look similar, but then again most archery gear looks like knockoffs of each other. I shot a doe with the 2 blade Rage. Double lunged quartering away. She did not get far.The damage at the exit hole was only a bit larger than the damage done by heads from A to Z used in the past. I guess it comes down to how you hit them. The only thing I don't like about the Rage heads is how easy they open in the quiver.

I distinctly remember reaching out and putting the blades back in place on the 2nd arrow that I nocked on the buck I shot this year. That movement could have easily spooked that buck. As if the warning shot I gave him wasn't enough, lol.
Dakota
Well, it looks like I'm going to have to go by Scheels or Archery Outfitters to pick up a pack of Rage 3s; I only have two Stingers and one is bent and I lost the other to a fence today while trying to be a big shot and smoke the bedded doe target at 35 yards after smoking her in the vitals every single time at 20... So...yeah... Dakota Edited February 26, 2009 by Dakota

Tom2008
Rage 2 blades for sure. I know the 3s work, but there is just to much going on there I think. The 2 is simple and a bigger cut. I shot my deer with a it this year. He went 30 yars(maybe less) and died in 3 seconds. I heard the arrow hit. I heard him crash and I heart him stop.
