layin on the smackdown
the difference between "Partly Sunny" and "Partly Cloudy" in terms regarding meteorology? After reading several posts on here regarding weather, it has come to my attention that these two forecast terms mean the exact same thing...and i have nothing better to do with my life at this point in time other than sit here and fret over the fact that meteorologists have two ways of expressing the same conditions with no basis, support or justification for doing so, other than maybe what mood they are in... who can unravel this mystery??? Bowtech_archer07
Wow man. You have too much time on your hands.... I think the difference is partly sunny is like 60/40 sunny and partly cloudy is like 60/40 cloudy. Or maybe it's just a pessimist's view and an optimist's view. I really have no idea. Just bored:D:p
TBow
"pessimist's view and an optimist's view" DITTO!!!!!!!! TBow
Tominator
Let us observe this dilema from a pragmatic approach. If you're a pessimist, it's partly cloudy, if you're an optimist, it's partly sunny. 15 minute recess.

terry264
I like our local forecasts too. It NEVER snows here, just overcast or "freezing fog", LOL. Have several inches of that frozen fog on the ground now with more on the way!

That is a perfect answer to this question
redkneck
It's just another way to mix it up, and some CYA in there too i think. Who else can come up with terms like "rain event" and all that other junk?
