wtnhunt Posted February 23, 2009 Report Share Posted February 23, 2009 The morning started off a bit rough, woke up at 3 and could not get back to sleep. Ended up leaving about an hour later than I had planned and to top things off the dvd player in the durango for some reason would not play, which had our 3 year old a little bit cranky(guessing it must have had something to do with the music I loaded to the hard drive by usb drive while a dvd was in the player). Tried everything I knew to try to get the thing working short of pulling over and turning the ignition off, which I later found out about halfway into the trip was the fix. Anyhoo we got to the opryland hotel and found a place to park way out in the lot, seems like it was about a mile walk, but that was ok it was nice and sunny. Left my jacket in the durango, did not know it would be snowing and raining when we would be leaving. Got in and right away met up with Tim Andrus and David Blanton, was little to no wait at that time. Tim gave the wife a RT girl t shirt, thanks Tim. Got to talk with David a few minutes and he said he remembered us from last time and David cut up a bit with me about the girls. I left a phone number for a member I had planned to meet up with out in the druango, so I had to walk back out and get it. Called Mike(ruttinbuc) on the way walking back in and left him a message. Our 3 year old is really shy, she did not have much interest in getting her pics taken. The girls with David Blanton and then the girls with Tim. We ended up meeting with Mike, and got to talk with Mike quite a bit, Mike ended up taking pics for us too which I really appreciate. Mike said that Lee and Tiffany had just gotten up at the RT booth with David and Tim, we just missed them. By the time we got back up there the line was nuts. I waited in line with our 3 year old while the girls went and got lunch for us. Here are the girls with Mike. Because of the lines and waits, we did not get to talk with Lee and Tiffany this year like we did last time. Last time around she talked with my wife and daughters for probably a good 15-20 minutes. This time with the line that just was not possible, they got to chat for just a minute. Think next time we will have to make it a point to go on a Friday when it is not so crazy. Really great pics William, thanks for sharing them. Your daughters are adorable:). Mike is a good guy with a lot of knowlege for sure, really enjoyed talking with him and walking around looking at some of the exhibits with him.
