Tony Posted March 1, 2009 Report Share Posted March 1, 2009 i have been looking at 45s lately and i have narrowed it down to these 2 weapons. the Kimber Custom II is used, but in near new shape and from a reputable dealer that backs used guns like there new. the other is a brand new Taurus PT1911 Duotone. both are in 45ACP and both have 5 inch barrels. im kind of leaning towards the Kimber, but i have heard a lot good things about the Taurus. both are priced at 649.00. just wondering which is the better deal. m gardner Posted March 1, 2009 Report Share Posted March 1, 2009 I've got the Custom II and it's accurate and easy to shoot. I practice out to 100 meters and it keeps them on the B-27 target 7 ring. I've heard some complaints about the Taurus. None about the Kimber. I got the 22 conversion from Kimber for it so I can shoot lots. I've got an Ultra Carry too. Love it. You can't find Kimbers for under $800.00 out here. Seems folks jacked up on meth don't mind being shot with 9's. Fourty fives stop them. I'd buy it.
