AceArcher
http://www.prairiestateoutdoors.com/index.php?/pso/article/new_bill_would_rewrite_illinois_deer_seasons/ This seems like a bad idea to me. The season right now works very well. Anyway...who wants to shoot a deer when it is 100 degrees outside. Also...if the youth season is the same time as the anterless only then what is the point? My biggest objection is screwing everthing up for bow season. Bowhunters get the first crack in IL...b/f everyone starts trudging through every stich of woods and shooting everything up. Talk to your state rep. if you are concerned about this.

Change is on the way alright, get ready it is just beginning.:( Seems some of us may get what we asked for while others of us will have to pay deer consequences for what we warned of. Talk to your state rep. if you are concerned about this. I've researched this bill and discussed on different forums. Has nothing to do with the President of the United States (I sense an unnerving amount of hostility towards the President. Come on guys, just because I don't like Rod Blagojevich doesn't give me the right to blame him for the earthquakes in California.) What the bill does have to do with is taking the power away from the ILDNR and giving it to Illinois politicians. Whether one agrees/disagrees with the changes in the season dates is not so much the issue here. Why should a politician be allowed to change the seasons when the ILDNR is more qualified to handle such issues? As far as what is in the bill: I wouldn't mind seeing the youth season occur the weekend before the archery season starts. I think it would interfere less than having it in mid-October just before the pre-rut as it was last year. In addition no archers would be in the field yet so youth would not have to worry about screwing up someone elses hunt. wtnhunt
I've researched this bill and discussed on different forums. Has nothing to do with the President of the United States From what I have read, you are correct Frank, that Obama was not directly involved with the committee or this bill. Don't know if he had any influence in this either. I am afraid we can count on changes on the way from the presidents administration that we will not like though. Your absolutely right, this is not BHO's fault, but any coincidence that it is a democrap trying to let politics decide this issue, not science, biology and the DNR? Didn't Bush get blamed for everything and I mean EVERYTHING. Now it is BHO's turn. Yes, I am speaking tongue in cheek. The DNR is a appointed office by the Governor correct? So I guess, if certain individuals wish to keep their jobs, they better vote along party lines.
stevebeilgard
what illinois does not need is the liberal democrats controlling the hunting season. you know, the anti gun, anti hunting, democrat legislature where obama came from. glad i'm in wyoming. ruttinbuc
The god people of Illinois need is to cast Chicago adrift. The corruption has been there since the days before Capone. Obama was one of the dominoes in line with the rest.
