Rhino
Never heard of it until now so I checked it out. I have a few Stoney Point bipods but I don't use them for turkey hunting unless I have a youth hunter with me doing the shooting. I'd just rather go simple and use my knee with this on it to help keep my gun on my knee.
Dakota
Al, I just about bought one of those today at Scheels, but decided against it for some reason unbeknownst to me. How is it working for you? Dakota
Rhino
Al, I just about bought one of those today at Scheels, but decided against it for some reason unbeknownst to me. How is it working for you? Dakota I've been using it for years now Dakota. I wore my first one out about 3 or 4 years ago but it lasted for about 10 or 12 years. The 1st time I ever saw one I bought it. I'd gone through a lot of years prior to using one fighting the balance the gun on the ol knee trick so it was a no brainer purchase when I discovered it. I have 2 now just in case I need a spare. I have been known to loose turkey gear but I haven't lost one of these...yet. It's pretty simple and really helps keep my shotgun set on top of my knee. Your hands are free to work calls. I usually just put the butt end of the stock on or up against my shoulder while I'm working calls. That way it's up and close to a ready to shoot position if a bird suddenly shows up out of nowhere. As long as the bird doesn't come in from an odd angle I shoot with my shotgun on my knee or with my hand rested on top of my knee. I'm generally a low profile tree trunk sitter. When I'm on the move I just leave it strapped to my knee/leg. It may slip down to the top of my boot while I'm on the move but it's no problem to re-position it when I set up to work a bird. I've never had one come off yet while I was on the move. BTW...I learned a lot of things not to do the hard way when it comes to turkey hunting and having your shotgun in your lap when a gobbler unexpectedly steps into full view is very bad.
