Here checking in, will try to think of a name or two and post them up. Just a couple of weeks and I can get after the birds maybe if my cousin lets me go to his place and hunt. If he lets me go to his place I get to start March 21 if not I will have to wait until April 4 for the season to open in the county where my place is at. Good luck to everybody this season :D

Glad to be aboard fellas!

I've got a permit for April 13th -17th in Union county IL.

I'll be hunting the 15th, 16th, and 17th and possibly the 14th. Trying to arrange my work schedule is tough this time of year.

Last year I only had a couple days to hunt. I called in some jakes but couldn't close the deal in the heavy rains. Hope the weather cooperates this year!

As far as names I'm fine with whatever you all like best.

A couple more to throw in the pot:

The Purrr...fectionists.

The Head Banging, Waddle Whacking, Feather Spreaders.

I like final roost but it dosent really matter as long as I get to shoot some gobblers, they are starting to gobble here and I seen about 8 longbeards in a feild the other day.Season starts the 18th of april,I got my shotgun out and cleaned it and rubbed it like a new pup,I think she is ready for some action.

Final Roost sounds good to me :D

Last Sunday afternoon I heard the first gobble of the year out at my place. I had been running a dozer and pushing over cedar trees in an overgrown field that is in the middle of my place. Well, about 30 minutes before it got dark I decided I would shut down the dozer and just sit in the field and see if I could hear any gobblers on their way to the roost. The plan paided off and I got to hear a couple of different birds, and they seem to have been headed towards the same places as they have been roosting the last few years.

Was out doing a little predator calling right before dark Saturday afternoon and the gobblers were talking again on their way to the roost :D

I can hardly wait to start chasing them on my place, I am off the first week of the season and will be out after them all week :)
