No Name Turkey Smashers....Turkey Team #4

Recommended Posts

Greetings, I'm a 43 year old police officer from Glen Dale, WV. This is only my second year turkey hunting. I got a nice jake last year and have plenty of turkeys in my woods so hopefully I will hold up my share of the score.

I shoot a winchester 1300, comp-n-choke, winchester HV 1 3/4 oz. #5's.

Welcome to all members of our esteemed team. Eddie that makes three of us using Win 1300s and comp-n-choke tubes. PA Spike King and I use them too. Maybe we should call ourselves the 1300 winners. I am an old geezer at 67 but have over a dozen longbeards to my credit. My daughter and family live in Kansas so I hunt there and this year I plan on hunting a few days in MO with a friend from another forum and back to PA to finish up. We have to come up with a name for our team so put on the thinking caps.

My fellow team mates that are shooting a Winchester 1300, what shells are your shooting I patterned mine last year with Winchester HV 3" 1 3'4 oz #6. I'm worried that if I misjudge my yardage by 5 or 10 yards that the #6 shot won't be effective?

First off sorry I haven't been around much, I'm here and doing a little scouting and doing some long range glassing so we have some turkeys located and just waiting on the season (April 25th).

Eddie,PA Ridge Runner and I use the Win XX mag in 1 7/8th's 0z loads. I have used the supreme's in 1 3/4 oz and 2oz have killed turkeys also. I just don't shoot farther than 40 yards and #6 shot is all we have used so just limit your yardage. Hope that helps a little.
