Ohiobucks
I'm here, looks like we have a pretty good team! I'll be hunting birds in Ohio, but season doesn't start around here until April 20. It'll be here before we know it.

LifeNRA
Hi all! My season starts around the end of April as well! Good luck all!
LifeNRA
Where is the rest? Like other years, if you want to send me your email or phone number in a PM, please do so. Once the contest is over Ill delete them. Only reason I ask this is just in case somebody cant get in here, or a way for the team to contact them. In case of no shows. Thanks! You guys want to think of a team name? I am game for whatever you all come up with!
boomer
I just pm'ed you my email. For names I got Triple Toe Killers, The Limb Chickens, or Beard Busters. But I really dont care on what name we use.
billkay
I'm here. Been on the road, and still am. Season here in KY starts Apr 18th and ends May 10. I might hunt IN and MI as well, although I don't know the dates off the top of my head. Good luck to everyone. Whatever you all pick for a name is fine with me. Ohiobucks
Just sent you a PM John. My youngest son Branton, Chris and I were shed hunting last Sunday at one of the properties I have access to and heard a bunch of birds cackling and yelping. No gobbles, but the birds are there. Pick a name, any name.
billkay
Man, I thought I'd be the one that only made it here now and again.... Season will start for me in about 3 weeks down in KY. Should be a good year. This will also be our first year of biz at Straight Creek Outfitters. Hopefully all goes well. Good luck everyone. Ohiobucks
....This will also be our first year of biz at Straight Creek Outfitters. Hey Bill, what kind of hunting does Straight Creek offer? Send me a PM if you wish.
billkay
We have turkey and deer hunting. We will also offer some pro video and pro photography workshops in the summer. Our deer season opens about the first week of Sept, so you can actually take a velvet deer for a week or so. We're located in East Central KY, sort of the foothills of the Appalachians. Beautiful place. GREAT turkey hunting, decent deer hunting.
billkay
Found my bird for openning day this morning. He was all the way at the head of the hollow, just strutting away. He is HUGE!!! I think I caught a glimpse of him last night as well, but not sure. This time I got to watch him for 20 minutes from about 40 yards before I backed out. I'm guessing he'll still be somewhere in the general vicinity next Saturday. Can't wait to get a crack at him.
Ohiobucks
Sounds pretty promising Bill, hope you get a crack at him this Saturday. I put our blind up last weekend for this weekends youth turkey hunt. I'll have my son Jake out there Saturday morning, the weather forecast is looking great for us. Ohio's state wide turkey season starts next Monday, it's in for 4 weeks.
Ohiobucks
Rainy opener here in Ohio today, didn't make it out. The forecast looks better for Thursday, Friday and the weekend though. I did get out with my oldest son over the past weekend for Ohio's youth season. He tagged a nice jake bird at 12:20pm Saturday. We had a big old tom at 10 yards earlier in the morning, but as soon as he came into our shooting lane, he spooked and was gone just as quick as he came in. That's how it goes sometimes. LifeNRA
I had my daughter out as well this past weekend. All we heard was a few hens. The birds are there its just a matter of finding them, seen all kinds of signs. The PA opener is this Saturday, Ill be a loner. Dad is camping, and Kaitlyn has a sleep over with all of her cousins. billkay
Congrats on the jake to your son Ohio. Been hunting here in KY a few times. Seeing tons of jakes but only a few gobblers. Weather's been rough. Been here for about the last 10 days and it has only not rained 1 day. Looks to get better at the end of the week. Dogwoods are just now starting to pop. Good luck everyone. Ohiobucks
SteeeeeeRIKE ONE! Turned a bird that is hard to kill into one that is almost unkillable by educating him I guess. I missed a nice bird this morning, he came in quiet with a few of his lady friends. After the shot, I stepped it off - he was a little farther away than I originally thought....and let's leave it at that. I told the farmer who owns the land I'm hunting, "If I can't keep them from eating your crops by killing them, I'll do my best to chase them over to the neighbors crops." boomer
Ohiobucks congrats to your son on the jake. Bill congrats on your bird. Been hunting most weekends here. I hit one tom with the bow but lost it. Havent had much luck other then that one. Really need it to stop raining on the weekends.
