RTF
That is do up a piece for competition. I always say this year I will go to my state show and compete, and then back out. Why I am once again thinking of doing a piece for our August 2005 show

DSGB
Re: I always say I am, but never do. You enjoy doing taxidermy, but for a show, the pressure you put on yourself to do a good job makes it seem like a chore. Same reason many people wouldn't want to hunt for a living (I know many would, though), it would take the fun out of it, and that is the reason we do these things. That's the best reason I can think of. Good luck if you decide to give it a try!
fisherguy
Re: I always say I am, but never do. DO it, i will even send you something to mount for the competition. Then send the finished mount to me after you compete. I won't even charge you for the loan of the raw materials.

RTF
Re: I always say I am, but never do. It's not that I cant do it. It's the money and time to get to these shows. You have no idea just how time consuming and how much money you will need from the start to the close of the show. Furthermore I cannot stay at these shows. Our show is 3 days long and I must commute back and forth each day. I have too much responsibilities back home to just get up and go and leave for three days. But I am still seriously thinking of making this years show which is in August.
