Indianahunter
I first want to say that I am a loyal Realtree customer, and will continue to be so. My loyalty is because of David Blanton, what he stands for and because I want to continue to support he and the team with my purchases. I will say however, over the last few years a lot of companies have been developing their own brands of camo. Some of them are very good, especially for treestand hunters. I will not name specifically your competition. But I am very hopeful that Realtree will respond to the newer more open and outline breaking patterns with something of their own. There are some who think that Loyalty to a company or brand is silly, and that you should simply purchase what works the best. I disagree, and as stated previously will support Realtree. However I would love to see something soon in response to your competition, as I am amazed at one particular patterns ability to break up your outline better then anything else I have ever seen. I agree on loyalty. I have always watched Realtree Monster Bucks and I have to say they are way better than any other video out there. Realtree APG is my favorite camo, have had hen turkeys walk within feet of me.

If you dig deep enough, chances are you can always find something out there that may be better for site specific/season specific purposes. IMHO, RT and their main competitor, MO attempt to produce patterns that will work best in a variety of situations and locations. Other than RT and MO there are close to 2 dozen other camo companies out there. From what data I have regarding the camo business, RT and MO have approximately 80% of the market share with RT carrying about 65% of that 80%. It used to be close to 50% before Toxy sold out. That ought to tell you something about who's done the better job in recent years. I know MO's recent camo addition is their way of trying to re-capture market share. Whether or not they do remains to be seen. In a nutshell competition is a good thing. It's just an incentive for the leaders in the business to keep working to improve their product lines. With that said I think it's safe to say we'll see more and more improvements from RT in the future.

Well said Al...I personally have often used a mix&match approach with different camoflauge for a specific site I wanted to have a groundblind or standsite. The top being Advantage Timber and the bottom being Forest Floor by M.O. At that site twice I have had deer walk by me and not spook and once another hunter started to setup a blind site 15yards away until I coughed to let him know I was there. In the end it's personal opinion on what works best in the wide variety of situations you hunt in...for me that is RealTree AP. As I said it depends on where your hunting for instance: If I decide to move my blind area closer to the cornfield I hunt I would consider getting more MAX4 to better blend in with the cornstalks. In the winter with snow I'll be switching to AP Snow. Adapt your camo to where and when you hunt and it will do what it's designed to do...your responsible for the rest. ruttinbuc
I did that to guy while sitting on a dead fall in my ASAT leafy wear. He walked right to me. I stood up and scared the daylights out of him. Thought I was going to have rush him to the hospital!
