jm23494
Well I broke down and bought my first muzzle loader. Found a good deal on a Remington Genesis with the thumb hole stock and stainless barrel. Looking forward to getting out in the next few weeks and getting it sighted in and working up a load for whitetail hunting.
fly
I bought one in December (no thumb hole). I absoluteltly love it. I put a Leupold Ultimate Slam scope on it and have the best grouping I've had with any firearm. For deer I use 100 grains of American Pioneer Powder with 250 grain shockwave sabots. muzzy1
Muzzleloaders rock,i shot a tc.I would try 100gr powder rather than 150 like most people shot, you dont need 150gr powder.i saw a guy shoot both through the crono and the differance is very minor. With 100 gr the gun doesn't kick at all,you will get way better groups with less recoil.MY2 CENTS
Dakota
I prefer my .50 CVA Hunterbolt with 100 grains of pyrodex powder and a 375 grain TC MaxiBall conical. Drops them dead let me tell you that! Dakota
jm23494
Well I was hoping to get out to the range and put some rounds through her but unfortunately when I went to pick it up from getting the scope mounted it was not to my liking (sat too low and the scope covers touched the barrel). So that shot my plans. I'm looking to run 100 grains of pyrodex with a 250 grain Hornaday Sabot. Hopefully this coming weekend will give me a chance.
