I used to have a big collection from the late 70's. Over the years, some got lost and some got taken by "friends"

I had alot of the team logo cards, but this is what I got left of them.

I still have cards of teams no longer around ....... Winnipeg Jets, Colorado Rookies, Hartford Whalers, Minnesota North Stars, Quebec Nordiques, and Cleveland Barons.

Plus cards of all the other teams.................. geeeeeeeee how old am I :D

Anyone else have any old cards ?

Wow, you guys have some great stuff! Luke, I had no idea...

When my boys were around 12 +/-, we would go to sports card shows and have a great time. We were mostly into baseball and I have only a couple sets of hockey cards - 1982 o-pee-chee and 1982 Topps. As for baseball, we each had our favorite players - Cal Ripken, John Olerud, Kirby Puckett.

Each year, our little burg hosts a big invitational ball tournament during Labor Day week, with top teams from the likes of Japan, Taipei, Cuba, and various U.S. cities. My oldest son was bat boy for the San Diego team one year and became great chums with Craig Chamberlain, formerly a KC Royals pitcher. He gave Aaron a number of his signed cards and a game ball signed by all the members of the 1985 World Series champion Royals; if you look closely you can see George Brett's signature on it in the photo.

I've got some Forsburg and Kariya cards from the olympics when those two were in the shootout and Sweden won the gold (Lilihammer I think) along with their rookie cards the next year. Also have a Sergie Brylin rookie card. Nothing too special I guess. I'd like to collect more with my boys. Their old enough now to enjoy it!

Don't have much hockey, but I've got well over 10,000 baseball and football cards. I've got several rookies and autos that are worth north of $100, but for the most part, the only real value they have is sentimental.

I've already started my 6 year old son in on collecting. We're trying to complete the 2008 Bowman Chrome set. We're about halfway right now. He loves it!
