Hey buddy welcome to the forums....I sighted mine in like this....get back 10 yards away and shoot a group (4-6 arrows) and see how far away they are from where you were shooting....move your sights towards the direction you are off until you get it dead center of the target (example if your shooting high and to the right move your pins up and to the right)...hope this helps you some.....some of these other guys and gals on here will probably have some advice for you too.....

All I can say is put a target up at 10 yards to start and aim at the center of that target at all times. Get a group going and move your sight by where your arrow hits. With most sights you'll have the adjustibility of moving the whole thing rather than just pins. To sight in your top pin make sure your moving your whole sight. Its usually to set screws that hold your sight for adjustment up and down and one for side to to side. Once you get your first pin all dialed in then you can move on to your other pins. Your left and right will be set for all your other pins after you get your first one set. So all you'll have to do is get your up and down right.

Here is your rule of thumb.

Arrows hit high move sight up.

Arrows hit low move sight down.

Arrows hit to the right move sight right.

Arrows hit to the left move sight left.

After that at farther yardages:

Arrow hits high move pin up.

Arrow hits low move pin down.

I hope this helps you and if you have any more questions please ask. We will gladly help you out. By the way what kind of bow did you get and what poundage is it set at?

Hey jumpboots welcome aboard!! Great place here to learn from some experienced guys and a few old codgers too. Post some more info on your bow, brand, arrows, etc. Did you have it set up already? Plenty of bow shops around to help you paper tune it and won't charge you an arm and a leg. Some great advice was given above, I'd like to add that good shooting is all about form too. You'll learn to develop a good consistent anchor point. I put my index knuckle against my skull right behind my ear. If you feel you're shooting consistently but still aren't getting a great grouping, you may need to do a little tuning, in other words, your arrow may be bending or kicking a bit as it leaves and you'll get some erratic results. Good luck and keep posting!! :):):)

Welcom to the forums bud...These guys have put you on the right track...

all i will add is:

don't over shoot yourself...alot of people have a tendancy to shoot a billion arrows and keep moving their sight. Shoot in intervals of 10 - 12 arrows, adjusting your sight accordingly. Take a good long break, and try it again.

good luck and keep us posted.;)
