I like to hunt for meat. I pass up quite a few small bucks and bang out a heck of a lot of does:D.

If Mr. Big horns comes on by, well in the freezer he goes too;).

Echo off this hillside(same here):D

I've got a grinder, give me the meat of a doe...I dont mind her, push'em by me..my shot will find her, take my pic behind her, tie her on the trailer with a binder:D

Given the 2 options "trophy hunter"

However, I prefer to consider myself to be just a hunter. Why? My main reason for hunting is the total hunting experience. Sure I enjoy the meat and a trophy critter too but many of my most memorable hunts I've had over the years left me going home with an empty game bag and a big smile on my face.

I would have to say that i am both...the only time i have a green light on a buck is if he's older than 3 1/2 (unless he's 4 1/2 and i think it is worth it to give him one more year)...other than that, the only reason i will not shoot at a doe would be circumstantial, or i just don't feel like dealing with draggin her out;)

I give away every bit of venison that I take anymore, so I guess I don't fit the definition of a meat hunter. At least not meat for myself. I have enough people around me that really have to struggle to get enough protien in their diet, so I think they need it more than I do.

As far as trophy deer are concerned, I am always on the lookout for the for a good rack, but I don't really obsess on it. Since I am primarily a bow hunter, I still get pretty darn excited when I have even a doe in bow range. We used to say that any deer with a bow is a trophy. Well, that is still true, and I hope I never lose the appreciation of that fact.
