Nothing like starting the day on the angry side. Not that it should be of any surprise, but I hadn't even heard of this. Thanks for posting, I will pass on to all of my firearm buddies. Looks like the gun purchase I was going to make later in the year just got pushed up to next week.

That is being attached to the federal background check. Here you pay $10 for the background check, however transfer fees here when you are transferring a gun costs you minimum at most places of $15 and they do vary, some places charge as much as $60. We have a ridiculous states sales tax here(9.75%) too.

It is $20 for the NICS check here. I paid $5 for a couple of guns I bought at Cabelas in PA awhile back. I don't know the transfer cost to an FFL dealer. Never had to do that. It is all being geared to put the burden on the law abiding.

That Tennessee sales tax made me look at it twice, William. I couldn't believe it. I thought NY was high. The city tax and occupancy tax and the sales tax trumped the "deal" on the room....I am thinking that is why the roads are in such good shape.

You know, the average American in the middle part of the country is just like you and I and is in no way a fan of such a thing, or our government for that matter. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if states start secceeding (spelling, Chris, I know :D) from the Union and I wouldn't blame them one bit. Jmho, however. ;)

Dakota :(

just one more bite at the elephant. if you look at the economy of each state, you will notice a trend. the states with the long time democrat controll (minnesota, wisconsin, illinois, n.j, n.y., michigan...) have the highest unemployment and the worst economy. pretty trendy, huh?

And a huge State budget deficit. We are like Canada........our Metro areas outvote the rest of us.
