VermontHunter
Didn't think I made any excuses except for the arm bumping thing on steve's part ... :D I will say this tho ,,, I traveled cross country, and only had a couple days to hunt, had a migraine taboot, almost died in that puney puddle jumper they call a plane in a thunderstorm and the rain didn't help either ... :D Hows that ?? ... :p Funny the HOYT ate well when I got home, it seemed to like that Whitetail doe very much ... :D:rolleyes: Now go pick on someone else ... Quite simply put, Luke, Hoyts like mediocrity and that's why it wanted to hit the doe and decided to miss the antelope! :D:D Trophy animals would much rather be shot by a Mathews than a Hoyt! :p:p You think I'm lying? Three words: Spook Spann Buck! :D:D Also, average out all the monsters the forum members have shot this year with their bows and the majority of the biggest ones were harvested with a Mathews! :D:D I'm sorry, Luke, you're just too much fun to pick on! :D:D Besides, this version gives you an escape route, it was the bow that missed not you! :D:rolleyes::cool: Dakota

This is a grouse kill from 35 yrds out ... Boy are you in for a time with those goats with that bow of yours .. You better be praticing those 50 yrd. shots .. :D All in good fun my friend .. Sure is going to be fun! Btw, Luke, that was either photoshopped or shot with a Mathews...:D:D Seriously though, I may shoot a Mathews...if you haven't guessed...:D:D...but what really matters is the shooter not what brand of bow you shoot. Tony
i will also be out the first week to hunt antelope. im already in the drawing and im going to stay in town at the HJ. it will be fun to get to meet everyone again this year. should be a good group and a lot of fun. im going to be shooting my Hoyt Ultratec all summer to get ready for the the hunt. actually i will be using it for 3ds as well. i found out last year that you need to make quick decisions on yardage and be able to pull off a little longer shots. lots of practice should prepare me well. stevebeilgard
what you have to know here is that last year, it rained every day and the antelope didn't come in to water. we had to spot & stalk them. that is very rare. we normally sit in blinds over water holes and the antelope come to us. my blinds are generally set 20 yards away, making for a pretty easy shot. so, all we need is no rain.... ruttinbuc
Just take as it comes and plan accordingly. Don't forget to take some rain gear and cold weather clothes. Like good boy and girl scouts....be prepared! The main thing is to have a blast!
ildrhntr
Ruttinbuc is right it can be darn cold the first of the morning but up to 80 by the afternoon but the important part is to have fun!

Dakota
I don't think you'll need to worry about that, Lisa. I never saw a single rattler while I was out there in 2006 and I doubt you'll have to worry much about them...except if you're wandering behind the Beilgard's house!
