KirkV
Some of you will remember the buck found by quail hunters here in Illinois. Check the story on the link provided. http://www.prairiestateoutdoors.com/index.php?/pso/article/grosboll_buck_scores_254_1_8/

I read about it a few times earlier this year, but none of the articles had produced any sources that had known of that giant...Its great to hear that story...just seeing an animal like that in the woods would be unbelievable...but getting pics and video, and having him in range...holy crap...thats all i can say about that:eek:

wtnhunt
Beck had been hunting the buck for 20 consecutive days at one stretch of the season. Ironically, one day Beck did not hunt he attended a wedding with his wife. That’s when his trail-camera clicked a picture of the buck one hour before dark just 25 yards from one of Beck’s stands. Now that sounds exactly like how my luck goes.:o Can relate to that for sure. Shame Beck was not able to kill the deer. No word on the cause of death of the deer? Rhino
Good to hear more about the story behind that 250" buck but I still wonder what killed him. Beck's got a good attitude about the whole situation. Gotta admire him for that. 2 close encounters probably had him rubber knee'd. I must admit though...it's hard to feel too bad for a hunter like Beck that already has a 184" buck on the wall. In my book, that's a buck of a lifetime too.
