fly
Thinking about trying pig hunting in late December. Not particular on the type of pig. I have a travel trailer so lodging and food isn't necessary. Not sure if public ground hunting is feasible or trying to find private land owners that want the pigs off their land. Seems like a lot of land owners are fed up with their destructive behavior and might welcome their removal? Would travel to MO, TN, KY, Eastern OK, Northern MS, AL. Any suggestions? redkneck
I know there are some places that charge by the pound, like a buck, or so. Pigs are everywhere in this state but not always in numbers that you can hunt consistently. Like the ones at my camp are completely nocturnal. Some of the old fox pens have been converted to hog pens these days. Hopefully someone will post some good suggestions. I'd like to take a few with a bow myself, but i'm not paying a whole lot for a pig, lol..
WIwhitetailhunter
This is where I'm heading to in October: http://www.reddirtboarranch.com/ A friend of my brothers was there last year or the year before. He said that he spent less than $700 and that was the hunt (2 pigs) and gas to get there from WI. Only thing I have to take for the stay is my weapons/ammo and sleeping bag and towels...everything else is included. And, if on the odd chance you don't shoot anything, all you are out is your $50 deposit. No kill, no pay!

hoosierhunter
That actually is a pretty good deal. I would just check to see how big the ranch is and how many pigs they killed over 250 lbs last year........

BR44
Hey fly, I'd seen an ad for a place in Texas, I think you only pay $1 for the hog (or each), and only pay for food & lodging ($250-350). I'll get further info cause I was thinking of taking a trip to hog hunt. Also, what part of IL do you live in? I'm 4 miles off the IL/IN line, 50 miles south of Gary/Hammond, town of Kentland.
