Born4it
I've been trying to get this insert out that I want to replace, and I'm having no luck. Does anyone have any tricks to get them loose? Thanks! Take care, Ryan
hutchies
What did you glue them in with? Here is how I get mine out................... Remove the nock. Find a drill bit that is just small enough to fit inside the shaft. Grip the open end and slide the bit inside the shaft holding it with your pinky......................Here is the key. Swing the arrow like a golf club or baseball bat...............About 1/4 thru the swing release the drill bit. It will send the bit flying down the shaft dislodging the insert. It may take several swings. CAUTION.............more than likely when it does come out it will go flying around the room as well as the drill bit. I normally do it in my garage towards the wall. PotashRLS
I heat mine up with a match and slides right out. However I still live in the stone age and shoot Aluminums:D:rolleyes:
Tom2008
We have a tool at work that is like a screw driver, but the head on it screws into the insert. I'll heat up my tool and then heat will transfer to the insert and you can pull it out. Do not heat up the carbon. You will ruin that end of your arrow. Shaun_300
I've never had to take one out myself, but I like hutchies' idea, that sounds like fun! May have to try that sometime just for the heck of it. :D
dbHunterNY
this isn't recommended, but my brother put a decoy in front of a hardwood tree trunk. he's missed a bunch of times and he uses sharper field tips to practice. it takes two of us to pull the arrow out and he's lost a few inserts. JimPic
I put a filed point on and heat that for a few seconds and remove with a pliers
