wtnhunt
When out checking cams over the weekend noticed a few scrapes that I had not seen before and then walked across this fresh rub. Seems kind of late for rubs, but getting pics pretty regularly of a buck that still is hanging on to both sides. Anyone else seeing new fresh rubs? rhine16
Me me me! And fresh scrapes! Have seen several since the end of season... not that unusual here though.
Rhino
Saw a few fresh scraps a little over a week ago while checking cameras William but no fresh rubs. Like rhine16 said that's not unusual in our neck of the woods. I did finally get an up close trail cam pic of a buck that had recently shed his antlers sometime during the week last week. His pedicles were still red. All the other bucks I'm getting are still wearing both sides.

The only other that I've heard of shedding was a buck that walked under my dad in mid January that had already lost both sides.

wtnhunt
Cannot remember getting pics of bucks with both sides this late here ever before. I know I have not ever seen a rub here this late. Kind of has me wondering if some young does have come in, getting pics of a few with pretty stained tarsals. ruttinbuc
My brother and a friend of his who are still hunting in a herd cull area saw 5 different bucks with their antlers still attached. Funny thing is none of them were shooters as they have to have 3 points on one side...some culling, huh?
WVdeerhunter
Pretty late 4 that. They started lossing horns here in WV 1st of smokepole ans all was gone by 1st of the year.

Adjam5
We have been seeing some fresh, or at least they look to be fresh rubs. But most of the flat heads we've been seeing all have empty pedicles. So I would imagine some of the bucks still have their head gear for those fresh rubs to be around.
