Strut10
For almost 4 years we've been blessed to have a true albino doe at the Strut10 Ranch. She was found shortly after birth by my wife's uncle........probably where she was dropped. We have had the pleasure (along with the extended community) of watching her grow and have a couple batches of her own fawns. No matter how many times you'd see her you always looked forward to the next. All the local hunters were put on notice and she survived 4 deer seasons. She was probably one of the most photographed wild deer in the state. An widowed neighbor lady loved to see her picking up spills under her birdfeeder. Another neighbor lady in her 90's and nearly blind could not see deer anymore. But she could see "Daisy" or "Pearl" (she had several names) and her boys would driver her around to see the white deer. Last Wednesday my dad found her dead. No apparent injury or struggle. I contacted the Game Commission to get a permit in hopes of salvaging the cape. The warden issued the permit and said that most likely, she had succumbed to pneumonia. I guess it's common. Friday night Dad, my boy and I removed the cape. We found some bruising at the base of her neck ......and then some more. Upon doing a bit of forensics we found a small caliber bullet hole behind her left shoulder. Probably a magnum rimfire........22 or 17. I am..................... I can't even put into words how enraged I am right now. What kind of a piece of human garbage does it take to do something so ignorant? I hope by doing this somebody got a couple more bragging notches in their belt of manhood. What a trophy to be proud of.

Alisha
That's an absolute crying SHAME! For a low life to poach a deer is bad enough, but to use a caliber that small makes it even worse. SO sorry to hear this. The low life that did this will pay for it one day. Karma is a you know what!
Shaun_300
Sorry to hear about that Don, that is a shame!!!!! I don't know how in the heck someone could have the heart to do something like that.
redkneck
Man, that's bad, bad, bad.... Unfortunately we live in a world full of idiots, just the sad state of life. A neighbor at a camp many years ago did the same thing to an owl we named otto, that would come to sing for us every night we had a fire going. Put a .22 through him and that was that:mad::mad:
layin on the smackdown
What a crock!!!! For what???? What is the reasoning behind doing something like that? its illegal...and with out the salvage tag, you can't have the cape in your possession...so why shoot it??? Chaulk another bright move up for the cesspool of real winners in our society...
Guest TennesseeTurkey
Wow that was a gorgeous animal.....scum bags.....out of season too I'd expect
Adjam5
That is a shame for sure, and for what? Just to kill? Poachers are just some really rotten people:mad:. Now your season in PA is closed correct? Was she legal to harvest during deer season? In NYS there are no regs against taking piebald or albino, when in season.
