Muff
Ok so what do you think...If he screws up this time do you think he will get in???? he has messed up san fran ,Philie and I will say that not everthing in Dallas was all him (but I hate the Cowboys ) so if he messes things up with the Bills do you think this will count against him for the hall??? I think so...if he screws up another team I think he is out.....what do you think???? Edited March 10, 2009 by Muff
Casey
He gets my vote for the hall of shame.
NY_Bowhunter14
i think he deserves it, it may take him a few years after eligibility because i believe those didn't have on field and off field issues deserve to get in first... but i believe he will be in the HOF at some point, regardless if he screws up in B-Lo or not... he deserves it... toddyboman
it depends really.....are you putting him in the hall for his numbers or his personality/attitude etc..... yes he gets in for his numbers.....for the other stuff.....not sure
buckbuster11
Based strictly on football, he's walking off the field and into the Hall of Fame. My guess is though, all his side games off the field is going to have a lot of people not voting for him.

My guess is though, all his side games off the field is going to have a lot of people not voting for him.I think it will be close. A move to a team like the Bills, could see a serious drop in production...not giving him the pad on the stats he needs in the next couple years - last years. But you're probably right. However, there is no way he will be a first ballot hall of famer. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes up to 10 years for him to make it. I say that because of the lack of a championship and career stats that are very good, but not great overall.

Although, I certainly would argue that he "deserves" it. I personally don't think think he does....yet.
hoythunter37
I think he is one heck of a receiver. Even tho he is one cocky person he is still pretty good. At least he is pretty pasionate about the game. He would have my vote even though he is way to into himself.
Steven
#2 all-time TDs for Wide Receiver. #4 all-time TDs, only 4 behind Marcus Allen. 1 Jerry Rice 208 2 Emmitt Smith 175 3 Marcus Allen 145 4 TERRELL OWENS 141 LADAINIAN TOMLINSON 141 6 RANDY MOSS 136 Marshall Faulk 136 8 Cris Carter 131 9 MARVIN HARRISON 128 10 Jim Brown 126 11 Walter Payton 125 12 John Riggins 116 13 Lenny Moore 113 14 SHAUN ALEXANDER 112 15 Barry Sanders 109 16 Don Hutson 105 Tim Brown 105 18 Steve Largent 101 19 Franco Harris 100 Curtis Martin 100 (Source: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/alltime/leaders) Look at all those Hall of Famers who were far less productive than him. Some say he's a jerk, I say he's entertaining. First ballot all the way. It's about football and stats, not about personality. If he doesn't get in, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is nothing more than a joke. Edited March 12, 2009 by Steven

unioncountyslayer
This shouldn't even be up for debate. Do I like TO, not in the least, but what has he done to jepardize his chances? Being a selfish, locker room cancer is most WR's MO. Anyway, he hasn't cheated, so he's a lock, period.
camoman1
His numbers definately put him in the Hall. Its too bad he is as big of a distraction also. Im not a TO fan, but I guess he could be doing worse things. At least he isnt shooting up nightclubs and beating up women and getting caught with drugs like many other NFL players are. I think he will be there, eventually.

layin on the smackdown
I think this falls right in there with the whole "Pete Rose" controversy...The hall of fame is supposed to be based on the athletes accomplishments on the field, right? that being said, i think it would be unjust if TO was not admitted or voted into the hall of fame due to his amazing ability to be a self righteous, outlandish, cocky person...the hall of fame is not supposed to be a personality contest... regardless, i think TO is a total moron, and far from a role model...but he is a great athlete. PAhunter14
The hall of fame is supposed to be based on the athletes accomplishments on the field, right? Barry Bonds didnt do HGH on the playing feild.... Just what came to my mind when I read this (BTW, I dont think Bonds should make the hall, just wanted to make that clear:D)
unioncountyslayer
How many super bowls does Irvin have???? 3....4??!!! YEAH I wasn't saying Irvin wasn't derserving of the Hall, I was just trying to put this debate in perspective...He was great on the field, and a complete dirtbag off. Heavy Metal
I wasn't saying Irvin wasn't derserving of the Hall, I was just trying to put this debate in perspective...He was great on the field, and a complete dirtbag off.I'm not trying to argue period. And I see everybody's point. Just debating is all, it's all good bro. Like I said, I think his numbers are good but I still think he needs a ring and and some more padding in order to be a first ballot hall of famer. I don't think that will happen. I think he'll go, but not for a while without those things. At the time of his induction, Marino led/owned the record books in nearly all QB stats only thing missing was a ring. But he was at the time...the best all time stat wise. Owens does not and will not go out at the top of the all time WR list in the same dominant fashion that Rice and say Carter did. So....I think he'll have to wait.
