RangerClay
I went to Bass Pro Shops yesterday. I got me a Thermacell and a new pair of 10x25 bino's. Is there anything else I need to bring?

RangerClay
Hi Ken. Glad you made it home safe. Be sure to bring your pictures along to Canada. I sent Shaun a PM but he must be on a date. When you get settled I will shoot a couple more questions your way.
Swamphunter
Do I bring my own mason jar or do I just use one floating around there??
GWSmith
To find Shaun all you have to do is enter his Phone number on this website. If his cell phone is GPS enabled, even if it is not turned on, it will at least find where the cell phone is: www.sat-gps-locate.com I tried it out and it showed exactly where I am...definitely works and it's free! Muff
I so wish I could make it up guys...BUT...I just got the word today from the boss that there is going to be lots of overtime in the next few weeks.I can really use the money right now so it looks like I will not be seeing you....unless you take the island route to come or to get back home. RangerClay
Ken, If I am lucky enough to harvest a bear, how does it usually come home? Will they or I have to quarter it? I should proabably bring an extra cooler eh? I thought should start practicing my eh's.
Shaun_300
Hey guys! Sorry for not being myself the past few weeks, I've had a lot of things bothering me and I'm finally feeling a lot better! I'm going to try my best to make it up but I can't guarantee being able to get Friday and Saturday off (25th and 26th). I will be there this coming weekend so I will be there when Ken and Ed arrive unless something changes between then and now. I'm hoping I can get the Friday off and switch Saturdays with someone for the 26th so I can make the trip up with Joe. Good news! Last week was the first week of the hunt and 6 out of 8 hunters were successful! Two of them just got there Friday night and one of them killed a bear yesterday just before dinner and there's still one guy out right now. Just talked to my cousin and they are still not back at camp so they are not sure if he got one or not. I did some baiting yesterday with Gord and Chris, all of the baits we checked and rebaited were hit bigtime! We even saw a bear just as we were leaving the last bait. He was about 150 yards up the logging road and eagle eye Gordo spotted his head sticking out of the blackberry bushes. It was really nice bear! That's one of the baits you guys will be hunting too. Anyways I wanted to check in, been looking forward to seeing you guys, I'm going to do my best to get up there as much as possible! Also getting on the forums more often now, my apologies again! RangerClay
Ken, you and Ed must be getting pretty excited. Its the final countdown for you two. I worked with my bow over the weekend and I finally got it dialed in. I was pitching them right there at 45 yards. Did you see my cooler post above? Swamphunter
I spoke with a border officer by the last name of Turner at the Ogdensburg POE, and he states that there is no problems bringing a dead bear back across the border. I am going to bring a couple of coolers for the meat, and maybe one for the cape.... that should do it I would think.
Muff
heres a thought guys....if you are not sure about the border...cross here on the island...if you are unable to get the meat across that day you could come back to my place and put it in my freezer until you get it cleared......just a back up plan for you guys. Swamphunter
Finishing touches today Joe!! Loading my trailer with my ATV and stands. Washing my hunting clothes so they are scent free. Actually just need to wash the sweat out of them from Wyoming. Bow is showing as "out for delivery", on the UPS website, so I'll put my new wraps on and refletch em' once it arrives. Check my sights and do a little shooting. I am rolling out of here around 8am on Saturday morning.
