Doe-ee
Team 5: Doe-ee bassdeer1 deershed K_rok8923 Hey, I'm here Buckee and I have been sluggin it, looking for sheds this year. Just found another matching set today too. That makes 2 matching sets so far this year. We found 4 sheds back in December while looking for buckee's buck that he hit and couldn't find. 4 days of searching for his buck only produced some old sheds ...but I guess they come in handy now. So far I think we have 17 sheds, with 2 matching sets. It's more than we ever dreamed of, because they are so hard to find here. The undergrowth is terrible, and we have to carry snips with us, just to get around.. We've had a lot of 3 to 4 hour days where we find absolutely nothing, which has usually made Steve give up in the past years, looking. It's nice getting out together for a change. Pictures coming soon :D Edited March 14, 2009 by Doe-ee

Doe-ee
Here's MY/our biggest shed so far, which buckee is a bit jealous of, because I found it...LOL. We've looked and looked for the mate, but can't find it. Amazingly, it was the right side of the big guy we have been feeding in the yard all winter. (a safe City buck) Then Steve went out one day and found the smallest, most perfect blacktail shed he has ever seen. Ussually they are just spikers, or maybe very little 2 points at 1 1/2 years old here, but this little guy has potential for sure. This is our pile so far, with 2 from yesterday missing
Doe-ee
This is just one spot I have been shed hunting. Once you get off the trail, it gets thick.

Most small nubbers and does, but he's found a couple bigger ones that he brought home as well. Too bad we can't count these too ...LOL

deershed
You guys are having an AWESOME year!! That is one Sweet shed Doe-ee!Looks like you guys really have to work for the sheds you get.I thought I had it bad looking in a leaf cover. Rack'n'stack sounds like a good name.If we can get the rest of the team in here we can decide. Here's a couple of my latest finds. I think the little dink sheds are the best. The bigger ones are sweet too. A nice set. And one in the open
Doe-ee
Beautiful sheds and gorgeous area. I love the little sheds too. Must be cuz they're harder to find. The pic of the matching sheds is so cool. We've never found a matching set on the same day, never mind in the same spot! There is so much underbrush here, we have to (sometimes) crawl under or over so much I'm thinking of taking knee pads. If Steve forgets the snips, to cut through the massive blackberry bushes, he's comes home with tons of scrapes and cuts. But it's a good day out in the wild, sheds or no sheds. buckee
Diana and I haven't been out shed hunting for 4 days now, because of the nasty weather. I hope others are doing better.

Doe-ee
Tally so far: 15 singles and 2 sets, for a total of 19 antlers. We did get a little help counting them ..LOL PS - Buckee says he think's it's just you and me on this team deershed. They should never let 1 or 2 time posters enter any sort of participation contest, or any other for that matter. I know this is just for fun, but it sure takes the fun out of it, when 2 team-mates don't show up.

K_rok8923
Seems like we are finding mainly right antlers..LOL Where did the lefties go? Sorry guys I totally Forgot, sorry. But that is very odd because I have found 7 sheds so far this year(I'll get pics up shortly) and only one left, and the Left is broken . But I have found my biggest shed ever this year. A 57 inch shed, I really want the left side but with the lack of left sheds I don't know how I'll find it. I know I am lookin pretty green right now but I will make it up with some pretty bodacious sheds. Sorry again. K_rok8923
This is the 57 incher. I found this one Christmas morning. I saw a deer in my backyard with a fresh wound on his forehead while I was getting ready for a party. I could see other deer bedded down in the woods and guessed he dropped there. I guessed right. This one is a year or two old. Here is the lone lefty of the year.
deershed
Awesome finds K_rok8923!! That 57 incher is Sweet, hope you can match him up.Do a grid pattern search in all directions from where you found it at.You find the match you'll have one Sweet set. Congrats on those other finds too!!Every find is a good find and one less free meal for the rodents. Doe-ee,you and buckee are doing great for that rain forest your looking in. Are those 2 sets from the same buck??They sure look like it.Keep piling them up guys. I'm shedding in a different world then you guys.(suburbia deer)My count is at 108 with 13 sets.Hope to add a few more these next couple days.I thought I had all weekend to look, but found out today I'm working all weekend.Looks like some long days coming up shedding first then to work. If eveybody likes the name Rack'n'Stack we can go with that name instead on Team #5.

Nope, Buckee tells me those 2 matching sheds are from different deer.(wouldn't that be cool) He did find a beautiful pair of sheds today. One right on top of the other! Unbelievable for this area. The sheer amount of antlers you are finding would be a dream come true for us. Hard to fathom a pile of 108 sheds. Awesome work! Buckee is willing to do our signature.....so.....Rack'n'Stack? It's good for us.

If eveybody likes the name Rack'n'Stack we can go with that name instead on Team #5. I too am hunting for suburbia sheds, I live in Des Plaines a suburb of Chicago. I live next to a forest preserve with a herd of around 20-30 deer. They only have a little over 4 square miles to pack into. I know of at least 2 other guys that search the same woods, not counting my neighbors who take walks and occasionally find sheds. So i have a little competition. 108 is a lot of antlers. I really need to search some other woods around me, because if my math is correct I don't think that the 12 or so bucks around me will give up the amount of bone to produce 108 sheds. I thought team #5 had such a good ring to it though(sarcasim). But I guess Rack'n'Stack is okay.
Doe-ee
I added up our score so far and came up with: Deershed's finds 108 = 216 + 13 matched pairs =26 Doe-ee's finds 24 = 48 + 4 matched pairs = 8 Krok's finds 7 = 14 total so far is 312....BUT I just went over the contest rules and found out that we are only allowed 30 points each. With just the 3 of us showing up we can only accumulate 90points at the most. So Krok- if you find another 8 sheds....we are done. Kinda takes all the fun out of the contest for me.
