tedicast
a .280 is on my "want" list. Don't know why I need one, just really want one!
Strut_Buster
Re: thoughts on the 280 rem we have a 280 695 Tikka. Shoots great. Not too much more kick than a 270 and a lil less than a 7mm. If your looking for a cartrige with true versatility I think this is one of them. Ahure does a nice job on them whitetails
christsavedme
Re: thoughts on the 280 rem I have been shooting a .280 browning stainless stalker with a leopold 3.5x10x50mm for the last 8 or 9 years and I have no complaints. IMO One of the best calibers you could want. I know some people say that they have problems finding shells for it, but I shoot Winchester Ballistic Silver Tips and everytime I have ever been to Walmart to get some they have always had them. I have taken many deer and yotes with this rifle. JMO

AJ
Re: thoughts on the 280 rem Its a good cartridge. Its like a 7 Mag with less recoil. I really don't see a need for the TBBC bullets, but if you like them and want to shoot them, why not.

Modillo
Re: thoughts on the 280 rem get a 7 MM REM MAG!!!!!! its the same thing but with a 300 win mag powder charge behind it.
AJ
Re: thoughts on the 280 rem [ QUOTE ] get a 7 MM REM MAG!!!!!! its the same thing but with a 300 win mag powder charge behind it. [/ QUOTE ] Kids Why on earth would someone want the "same thing with more powder" as you put it? That creates more recoil to do the same thing, is not worth it. Once again, you are mistaken about the 7mm Rem Mag, it does not use the .300 Win Mag's powder charge or even have the same powder capacity.
