stevebeilgard
good luck, randy. you're in for a tough road ahead, but you can do it. like lisa with hco, i smoked 3 plus packs a day for years. after about 12 years of harsh treatment to my lungs, a young girl told me she wanted me to stop so i'd be around in our after 40 year old years. you know, our old age. i did, and we're still together 42 years later. cigarettes were 18 cents a pack when i quit.... how's that for a shock for all you young-uns. OJR
Just another footnote to this. Last week we buried one of my best friends. He was a smoker for years and lung cancer got him! It was really a bad scene towards the end. Really horrible pain. Morphine helped, but he really suffered!
Illinois59
I quit almost 2 years ago. I used Chantix. It worked for me. Good luck to you.

doubleA
Randy, Prayers sent for your addiction. You are correct in saying that you have the "mind set" to quit, so with that you should be on your way. It will also help to have a person that will hold you accountable and can help you through rough times, ya know someone you can talk too. I am trying to change my eating habits (diet said nicely) and have a good friend to confide with.
Slash
Been there done that, good luck to you, you'll be happy once again when you have money in your pocket that you used to spend on multiple packs. Plus food will once again taste better

Randy
Thanks everyone for the support. I'm going to do this, I need to be there for my kids and see them get married and have kids of there own. It's not going to be easy by anymeans but, my mind is made up. Anyone got anything to eat??? :D
HCO Team
Yea, sunflower seeds! I lived off those to get me through the first few months.... Something that worked for me. I kept count of the minutes, hours and days I was smoke free. Kind of like giving myself a pat on the back all of the time. Keep us updated on your success!!! unioncountyslayer
So have you been tempted to go through the trash yet today? Seriously, good luck with your attempt to quit again. I quit 12 years ago cold turkey. Now if I could just kick this dipping habit. ugh!
