Strut10
Here are some (fairly poor) pics of some recent additions to the stable: Weatherby Mark V Ultra-Lightweight in 25-06 topped with a 2-10x38 Weaver. Weighs right aound 6 1/2 lbs the way you see it. Charles Daly 30-06 with a 4-12x44AO Winchester scope. This gun is strictly a future donor action for a future project as it has a nice Mauser action. The price was phenomenal.........I almost feel guilty. Almost. Winchester Model 94AE in .307 Win. I've got a bunch of 94 XTR's and AE's in interesting calibers. But they're in collectible condition and I've not shot them. This gun runs 85-90% and is gonna be a shooter. There's a Lyman reciever sight in its future. doubleA
Nice acquisitions you got there Strut. Though basically a rimmed 308 Win, the 307 never set the world a fire...probably do to using RN bullets and a lever gun. I think Marlin's 30 with the advent of the leverevolution make make it. Strut10
Just got back from my smith's. Ends up that the .307 Win had something funky going on with the front barrel band bolt. Wouldn't go through 'cause the holes wouldn't line up. Almost like a factory defect or something. Anyhow..........it's home and ready to assume its new job as household do-it-all, utility plinker. I scooped up a couple hundred 90 gr. XTP's for the .30 Luger. Figure those oughta make a darned fine light recoil, "plunk what ails ya" load for keeping the yard free from vermin. Think i'm going to install a Williams or Lyman reciever sight on it in memory of my good old shootin' buddy, the late Dr. Joe.
