In NY only our Deer management tags( doe tags) are area specific, so they can manage the herd population. The buck, bear and turkey tags all are statewide, regardless of weapon. That is a tough choice to make there Kirk. Maybe trail cams out in the area you know, and and put off purchasing the tag as late as possible, or until the trail cam(s) give you good possibilities to expedite the purchase.
