texastrophies
Muggs and i have made a trade. I get his 6th and 15th pick this year, he gets Felix Hernandez. He will confirm this when he gets back into the office. Meanwhile I'm going to make my picks. According to the sheet I am looking at Muggs doesn't have a 15th round pick this year. muggs
According to the sheet I am looking at Muggs doesn't have a 15th round pick this year. I carried over 6 keepers. Martin takes away my 21st rounder Phillips takes away my 20th Haren takes away my 19th Verlander takes away my 18th Chris B. Young takes away my 17th Soria takes away my 16th. Not see how I couldn't have a 15th.
muggs
I see what's happening, Harden is taking away one of my keeper spots, and he's a guy I traded for during this draft. I wasn't aware I would have to forfeit my 15th pick during that trade. What are your thoughts on this Kev? I def would have taken that into consideration before I made the trade. I'll PM because I have another trade offer out there that may impact this as well.
texastrophies
According to Kevin's list you also have Rich Harden
texastrophies
There is only 21 positions, no other way to look at it.
muggs
There is only 21 positions, no other way to look at it. Dude...we'll straigten it out. Honest mistake, I wasn't considering Harden as reserving a keeper spot since I just acquired him. According to our rules, the keepers you choose to hold on to from previous years are the ones that take away your late round picks- I guess a situation never arose were a keeper changed hands during the draft. Seems sort of silly to penalize people for making trades. This may all work itself out via another possible trade I have out there, if not, I'll either forfeit his rights and lose him after this year, or give John my 14th... no biggie. The only reason I offered him my 15th was due to the fact I thought it was my last available keeper pick. Like I said though, we'll work it out. muggs
I am calm...guess I should have added some :D's or 's. Just explaining how that worked out- sort of sucks, I actually didn't even realize Harden had keeper rights when I made that trade.
buckbuster11
So I get your 14th?
muggs
So I get your 14th? Possibly- I have another trade out there that might work this out on it's own, and I'd prefer just forfeiting Harden's rights and putting him back into the draft pool next season. But if all else fail I'd give you that pick.
texastrophies
So I get your 14th? You know it is the same deal for you, you can only have 21 players. You didn't have a draft after the 14th, and when you picked up muggs 6th round the way I see it you don't have a draft pick after the 13th, unless you have traded somebody away, haven't followed it THAT close. :D:D
MCH
Isn't this the reason we started the supplemental picks?? Anytime you acquire another keeper, he counts against you. BUT if you have additional roster spots to fill, you just have to wait until the end of the draft and then use your supplemental picks. Of course, you'll be picking from the leftovers but at least they'll have keeper rights. Any questions or comments?

muggs
I let matt know he's up...problem is, I don't think he's up yet. Last I heard he was at a sports bar watching the tourney so once he decides to get out of bed I'm sure he'll make his pick, even though I could probably predict who he's gonna take at 99.9% accuracy and just make it for him now. MCH
I'm pretty sure he has his eye on Randy Johnson for his first keeper. :D
MCH
Hate to bring this up, but the only way Muggsy will have a 14th pick is if he drops Harden all together. Here's a simple way to remember: If you make a trade for a keeper, they automatically go into your keeper list. Every keeper counts against your draft picks(they go to the bottom of the draft order). So in Muggsy's case when he traded for Harden, Harden took up a spot in his draft. His keepers took up spots 15 thru 21. Unless, he trades Harden, Felix Hernandez(from BB11) will take up the 14th slot. Now if he chooses to drop Harden, his 14th slot will open back up and be available to trade to BB11. Everyone follow so far?? OK, at the end of the draft, if Muggsy has traded away more picks than he needs to complete his team, he will receive supplemental picks. Supplemental picks are made after the final regular draft pick(210) and they will still have keeper rights. Muggsy must have a bad memory because this is what happened to him and texastrophies last year.
