MCH
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm impressed at how quickly we've been able to draft. Almost in the 11th round in less than a week without a scheduled meeting. That's not bad.

Shouldn't be more than two more days.

rhine16
Yea, me too. Yeah right! You took the guys I was looking at! My starting pitching should be strong....Maybe it'll make up for it
buckbuster11
If anyone is interested in Jered Weaver or Ryan Dempster please let me know asap. Looking for a pick in return.
muggs
Yea, me too. Taking 4 consecutive closers that early is definitely a new strategy. I'll give you that.
rhine16
Taking 4 consecutive closers that early is definitely a new strategy. I'll give you that. Well one thing it does is keep everyone else from taking closers.... Looks as if I'm going to save the closers for a later round. I don't even know who I want to take as a closer but I have two position players I want so I'll go after them.
muggs
Well one thing it does is keep everyone else from taking closers.... Goot point, next year I'm using my first 9 picks on first baseman so you can't get one.:D
rhine16
Goot point, next year I'm using my first 9 picks on first baseman so you can't get one.:D Then you can keep 2, one for dh and one for 1b, and trade the others! Real smart muggsy!! BTW- I have pretty much not gotten a first baseman yet. Why I drafted Hafner is beyond me...
muggs
Why I drafted Hafner is beyond me... Hafner himself wouldn't have made that pick. But, I'm not crazy about my Wilson pick so I have no room bud.

There is actually some (not a lot) but some thought behind that process. We will find out if it works or not.

Like I said, it's new, I'll give you that. It could work, you're going to be tough to beat in saves, that's for sure.

But if you sacrifice more closers than starting pitching you lose K's and W's. A closer may go 3 innings in a good week. 5 max the way I see it. Your ERA has the possibility to shape up a little better though.
