Darron
Anyone plant spring triticale for turkeys? It's a cross between oats and wheat I believe. I thought about throwing some down in my disced plots. The new green growth I thought might attract some turkeys. It said to start planting in late March. Should I buy a bag and broadcast or just leave the plots disced? It's fairly cheap, only $14 for a 50lb bag.
dogdoc
never planted spring triticale but I have planted it in the fall. I believe triticale is a cross between spring wheat and rye--not oats. I'm sure it would attract turkeys--worth giving it a try. If your going to disc the plots it I'd go ahead and broadcast some and give it a try. good luck todd
