Seen a group of Great Blue's last night migrating back north. I've never seen them fly in a gruop like this- maybe it's common, I've just never seen it. Not that great a pic but they were up there quite a ways.

Me neither. The blue herons stay here all winter.

You know I don't think I have ever saw a group of herons flying together like that either.....

I never saw Blue Herons in a flock, either. Nice catch, Dave! ;)

This is the Blue Heron rut time. :D

We have a rookery very close to where I live. If you're near a rook, you will see them in formation.:cool:

Great pics, as usual. I saw a flock of Great Blues flying over once in Dec as I was shoveling 18" of snow we just got 3 days before Christmas. Guess they thought it was time to got south:rolleyes:. They were about as noisey as the Canadian geese are.
