Flintlock1776
Keep sending emails and call the Governor as he can still veto the Sunday Hunting Bill that the NJ Senate & Legislature just passed. He stopped the Bear hunt a few years ago. The antis are calling and lying that it would open hunting to all areas. It will not, just private land and the WMA's and not State and County parks as the antis are trying to say. Use this format or whatever you would like: The Honorable Jon S. Corzine Governor, State of New Jersey Office of the Governor PO Box 001 Trenton, NJ 08625 Re: Bill A1669 / S802 Sunday Bow Hunting Dear Governor Corzine: The above legislation now awaits your signature and its passage is extremely important to me. As a conservationist I am committed to responsible stewardship of our state’s natural resources and Sunday Bow Hunting helps in this endeavor. The bill will ensure better manage New Jersey’s deer overpopulation. Every lifeless roadside deer is the result of a car accident, an accident that caused financial loss and perhaps personal injury or death. The bill will help reduce agriculture losses due to deer feeding currently estimated to be 20% per year, reduce residential landscape damage and the transmission of Lyme disease. Sunday bow hunting will help to boost New Jersey’s hunting license revenue, aid the state’s ailing economy by drawing non-resident dollars, repeal an antiquated blue law and bring New Jersey in line with 43 states that currently allow bow hunting on Sundays. The bill restricts bow hunting to private property and Wildlife Management Areas only. WMAs were originally purchased entirely from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses and operational funding is still provided entirely by hunters and anglers. Sunday bow only amounts to 14 days per year but is of great value to people currently obligated to family and work responsibilities. Governor Corzine, I am one of 650,000 New Jerseyans who hunt, fish and vote. I ask that you sign the Sunday Bow hunting bill into law. Sincerely, YOUR SIGNATURE YOUR ADDRESS Edited March 23, 2009 by Flintlock1776
johnnie
Good luck with that, we are fighting the same problems here in NC. Fortunately, our Sunday ban doesn't include archery, so this upcoming season we should get to bowhunt on Sundays. Hopefully, this will open the doors for all other hunting on Sundays. huntcamp
Hunting should be open on all land including public hunting lands everyday of the week during any hunting season that is going on. The so called hikers that say that they are worried about getting shot, probably never set foot in those areas anytime close to the hunting times. Good luck with the anti's
dbHunterNY
I've taken lots of bucks before it was time for church or bible study before, for that matter. I don't see why hunters can't be out in the woods on Sundays. That's my opinion anyway. - Dan
DKA
Good luck with this venture. Think that it should be your choice, nat politicians.

Hopefully you guys can get that one passed.

SaskSniper
They just opened up Sunday hunting here in Sask. This will be our first year with it. I know for myself working shift work, I think its great. As well for all the kids out there that we are trying to introduce into the outdoors. Most of them obviously only get to hunt on the weekends. Now they will get another day to get out there.
