Hoosierbuck
Because it is a Catholic University, and the Catholic Church does not even condone PRE-conception birth control, much less second trimester birth control/abortion. The Catholic Church also does not agree with Embryonic stem cell research. President Obama is funding and promoting both of these issues with our money. Texan_Til_I_Die
I am neither Catholic nor a Notre Dame alumni, so I don't feel like it's my place to sign. However, I can certainly see where a devout Catholic would have a problem with President Obama's actions regarding abortion on demand and the use of human embryos (or unborn children, if you prefer) for scientific research. Hoosierbuck
The Bishop of this area has decided not to attend the ceremonies due to this issue. Now graduates are talking about a protest and not going to the ceremony, either. I am not an ND grad nor a Catholic, so I also feel like I lack standing to protest in this venue despite my proximity. stevebeilgard
i'm not a catholic, either, but i did sign it. obama's morals are contrary to christianity, and he has no right/reason to go to notre dame. but, this is the same catholic church that ignored what hitler was doing, and allowed good nazi's, who were only mass murdering jews, to go to church on sunday and celebrate our lord
wtnhunt
With Steve on this one, Obama does not have any reason to go to this church, don't understand why anyone ever arranged this. His sense of right and wrong in regards to so many things go totally against the catholic religion and Christianity.
Hoosierbuck
He was INVITED by the school, with input being a vote on campus and the decision being made by the university president from what I gather. HB
pointing_dogs_rule
Been there and already signed. Worst thing is that when Obama was in the Illinois senate, he voted 3 times in favor of "infanticide". The right of the doctor to terminate the life of a fetus that was aborted, however, still alive outside the mother. good luck to all the dog
